    Near sell outs most weeks

Out of all the clubs who have had poor/ corrupt owners in the English leagues I can only think of Brighton that have possibly had it worse than us.

    Timewasting

With the guy who went down in our half. Hobbled to the Centre circle then went down again, and was subbed, my son noticed that the injured guys sub was already waiting to come on. This player may have been injured but he very effectively broke up play far longer than was necessary. Instead of...

Charity Shield 1987/88 - Coventry City vs. Everton

The highlights are certainly better than the memories I have of that game. I would have said it was quite a dull game with few chances. That said, I didn’t remember any of the chances shown in the highlights, certainly didn’t remember us hitting the bar. Greatest fact from this game is that we...

    Stadium update

Hope not. Really pleased he has managed to do this but much prefer an owner who operates in the background than one who does things for self aggrandisement. I always thought the Doug Ellis Stand at Villa sounded tinpot.

    Stadium update

One of the stands would have to be the Tommy Hutchison Stand. It will be great to see the whole stadium branded with Coventry City stuff in the way that other clubs have done, both inside and outside. Much improved over the last couple of years but can be made into even more ‘ours’

    Millwall cup tickets

I can’t see where it says they are on sale today? Certainly haven’t started selling them, unusual as it’s usually 10am

    Ex Player Reactions

Wasn’t Liam Walsh player of the season in the promotion year? A great player for us and never gave less than 100%. Why he should be the subject of booing I certainly don’t understand. I thought he was the best player on the pitch last night as he has been in the three previous appearances...

Transfer Rumour Bassette to FC Utrecht

He played the first half of the friendly against Bristol Rovers and did nothing. You would think that he would be desperate to impress but he really looked ordinary and I don’t think he has featured since.

That’s a good point and something I hadn’t thought of before. Our team in that semi final was very young. For Hutch it would have meant he he lost the mantle of being one of the very few players to score for both teams in a cup final.

Tommy worked in schools for twenty odd years after finishing as a player, first in South Wales and then for Bristol City in the Community. He loved it, especially when he was working with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds that were similar to his own.

I think when they moved to Man City both Hutch and McDonald were out of the team. Tommy had returned from America, played a few games (including a League Cup tie at Brighton for us which left him Cup tied for Man City’s run to the semi final, losing to Liverpool, we also got to the semi final...

I was on the ticket office today and asked about attendances. There were 11600 at last nights game, ticket sales for Saturday are slower than they were for last night. A nice day and there could be a good walk up I suppose. Maybe more away fans this time?

Match Thread Coventry City v Real Betis (Friendly) - 30th July - 7PM

Watching the Bristol Rovers friendly it really stood out for me how difficult it is to play as a striker for us and to make an impression. I am certainly no tactical expert but the amount of times that they, and to a lesser extent our midfield, show for a pass but are ignored, the preference...

    Predictions

They have one fan from each club in each division. I don’t know how they are chosen. The chap writing about us, Tom Furnival-Adams has done it for a few years now. They have this feature at the start of every season.
