I think we stay up but it won’t be pretty with this bunch of players.
I thought we’d see some reaction with the new boss in but it was flat. On paper the squad should suit 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 but we leak goals.
We lack experience and grit in defence and the engine room of midfield. I’m sure Frank...
Don’t think Lampard's that bad an option but hard to be enthused partly because it looks like it was already planned. If true the whole scenario looks staged managed.
Just hope they get on and announce it now. Give him the week to work with the players leading into what will be a tough game.
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t get a new boss in pretty quickly. Accept we could lose to Sheffield United and Burnley even with a new coach but given Doug has been thinking about getting rid for at least a month it seems remiss to not have already had a shortlist drawn up.
If he’s serious...
Fuck me Big Doug wasn’t holding back.
Robins and Adi fell out. Robins had final say on the players. Robins didn’t want any of the options for Assistant manager.
Can believe a lot of it although obviously this is from Doug’s perspective but Christ I wouldn’t want to work for the guy.
Sounds...
I’m sure there are better managers out there on the continent and maybe some of the less well known names like Bloomfield maybe good in the long run but for where we are I can see some logic in Lampard.
Im not expecting playoffs this season now but to push up the table and finish top half after...
So gutted to see MR go I don’t think I’d be jumping for joy with any new head coach.
Of the names mentioned Bloomfield, Sheehan, Carsley e.t.c Lampards CV is the most experienced so could understand it.
He always comes off as fairly articulate and tbf I could see the players respecting him if...
Were they all in they’d played the night before. Bidwell is injured so he could have been in rehabbing.
Wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of the first team weren’t at Ryton and heard it from the media.
Not sure John Taylor seems to be occupied more on the commercial side. Match day operations, retail and ticketing.
I might be wrong which is why I asked. We’ve expanded so it’s not just looking at Robins and Boddy when things go wrong.
Said it on another post but I don’t get the structure of the club.
There’s Head Coach, Performance Director then Head of Recruitment. Are they all equal or is one above the others? In that sort of setup I’d expect a director of football but looks like they all report to Doug independently; Doug...
Would like him to be asked what our coaching setup is and who oversees it.
We don’t have a director of football so who sits above the Head Coach other than Doug and therefore makes the decisions on the setup. Are the performance director, Head of Recruitment and Head Coach all at the same level...
Surely they know who they're targeting/giving it too? Cant see them sacking MR with only the Sunderland game before the international break if they didn't have someone lined up.
Was worried we'd give it George or Delaney but with Carr put in interim charge that looks like none of the current...
In but I do think we’re coming close to the end. The fixtures up to the international break look ominous.
If Doug is going to make a change you’d have to say that’s the logical point. Reset with no fixtures and then the new man has time to asses the squad before the transfer window.
Don’t want...
Gutted to say it but think the end is nigh. Just don’t see things changing and think he’s probably got until the Sunderland game.
The group seem to be sinking without the characters of old to steady the ship.
It’s not a lost cause yet but think Doug is going to make a change sooner or later.
In for me but I do think where we are after Sunderland is make or break.
The problem for me is that I don’t think any manager will do better with this group of players. Not sure we have much option for formation change either with the personnel we’ve got.
Said it on another thread but if King...
You can see the decent pros on the pitch, Sheaf,Eccles,Bidwell and Rudoni even when not on the top of their game show some desire.
Wright,Simms e.t.c just look disinterested. the sort of players that drive you mad because they have the ability.
Watched posh a lot last year and he looked class so think there is a player in there.
Would like to see him get a string of games in his preferred position but with Hadji first choice looks unlikely.
Not sure if it’s him or the other coaches. But that’s why I want them exposed if MR goes.
We ain’t getting rid of the players, the manager will carry the can. So if Doug does pull the trigger let’s see his new boys step up.
