Well I don't agree he should be on a shorter leash. Sacking managers every 5 minutes might work for some clubs. It's never been anything other than disastrous for us. He should be given time.

I think because things have been so bad recently there's a bit of straw clutching going on here. But in our current state its a bit of straw clutching I can get on board with.

Over 2 seasons and it put us as 7th highest spenders in both seasons so we still underachieved but we aren't quite the big spenders people make out.

You may not be, but some are. I find it strange because it wasn't a disaster. If people are tagging the last month on to this season then I don't agree personally but I can see the logic but cant get my head round trashing the whole season.

So why are so many people trying to paint last season as a disaster? We definitely hoped for better but it wasn't a disaster.

If you're going to judge it on spend, and I appreciate its quite a simplistic take, then we were 7th highest spenders. We missed that by 2 places and 6 points. That's not hugely off target. King also stipulated he wanted a cup run, which he got.

We played some of our best football in both of those games prior to the sendings off to be fair. We were on top in both, but as usual, as soon as the opposition attacked, they scored.
