Well that settles it. This thread is going to go on and on and on. *Turns notifications off*

    James Bailey on a free

Yeah loved him, as technically gifted a footballer you'll ever see at this level. Great range of passing, great character on social media which these days is vital. Never made a mistake and tbh, letting him go was the catalyst for our downfall under Pressley.

Robins football was quite direct. Ok.

    Well that's that then.

    James Bailey on a free

The Robins era was a much better quality of football than at any time during the Pressley era. If anything Pressley relied on the individual quality of Clarke and Wilson.

    James Bailey on a free

There were by no means great players, but under Robins they performed as good as any midfield pairing we've had in our time in League One. The system helped both of them excel beyond their ability, allowing them to concentrate on protecting the back four, ticking over possession and starting...

    James Bailey on a free

We don't need to waste money on another defensive midfielder. Bailey has never really lived to expectations after he moved to Derby from Crewe and considering the youthfulness of Barnsley's squad, he must of been bad for them to release him.

    Ruben Lameiras

TM said it looks unlikely that Samuel is coming as he's impressed Steve Clarke

    Leon Best

Barnsley were rumoured to have bid 100k for Forte, who is currently at Oldham. Seems to have settled down after countless loan spells.

    Ruben Lameiras

Ideally you'd have Lameiras and Tuddy on the bench and a new winger and striker in - with two additional forward players coming in on loan perhaps. We could arguably improve on both fullbacks and the keeper - we may do with Pennington, if Ricketts moves to fullback - but it looks like TM is done...

    Ruben Lameiras

Very astute move this from TM, it could go either way but he's not costing a lot so ultimately it won't matter. A basis of: Burge Phillips Ricketts Reda Stokes Vincelot Fleck JOB Maddison Lameiras Tudgay is by no means finished but is good to work from. Three to four forward players with...

    Leon Best

Well obviously not every forward that plays in League One having previously played in the Championship or equivalent is going to score for fun. In the last three seasons there has been a large amount of forwards who have underperformed in the Championship or have had less than average careers...

    The silence is deafening

    Fascinating input.

David Mooney, Paddy Madden, Matt Done, Ryan Lowe, Leon Clarke and Izale McLeod can have a word with them.
  17. LJC_CCFC

    Leon Best

Although Best has played almost all of his career in the top two divisions, whereas Jackson has spent significant time in the lower ones. Yes they have both hit a slump in their careers - for different reasons - but one is better than the other.
  18. LJC_CCFC

    Leon Best

Perhaps that is the reasoning of the half-brained idiots on here, but the fact is lots and lots of average players from the league above score for fun in league One. The gap between the two divisions is huge.
  19. LJC_CCFC

    Leon Best

Tbf to Best after the injury at Blackburn he's gone on loan to sides and been something of a spare part. Did well at Wednesday, behind the likes of Chris Martin in a great Derby side - where he got 0 starts - and in with a flurry of misfits and loans at a Brighton side trying to stave off...

    Burge is not good enough

There really is no need to over analyse the Burge situation. He doesn't excel in any area of goalkeeping, granted he is young but signs of ability/progression haven't been evident. TM has deemed him competent enough to start this season in goal and has stated that if he makes mistakes - which he...
