    Who was you childhood hero?

Terry Gibson was my first. Cried my eyes out when he left. Then Oggy and Cyrille were mainstays throughout the rest of my childhood with very honourable mentions to Speedie, Gallacher and Ndlovu.

Been thinking about these Wembley visits. They have coincided with some really poor kits. In fact the only really decent kit we've worn at Wembley was the only one we lost. 16/17 - by far the worst kit we've ever had 86/87 - our greatest ever team being forced to wear blue and white stripes...

My twat of a mate took a picture of me at the final whistle crying (I'm emotional at the best of times tbf) and he sends it to me on the anniversary each year. Like I said, he's a twat!

Who gives a fuck? I'd argue we'd be using it as justification of our standing in the world if we'd won anything pre-war. We're pushing 40 years on from winning the FAC and we still bang on about as much today as we did then. When does that cease to be relevant?

Yeah I do get that last bit! Anybody not in my Panini sticker albums between 1984 and 1988 had all the footballing relevance of a pub team. I still struggle to accept that Wolves are anything other than an amateur team that have somehow fluked current top flight football.

We've done that a handful of times in the last 50 years, mate. If 'big' is based on success, which I'd argue should be, both Burnley and Blackburn have spent much more time in the top flight than us (60/72/34).

Depends how you deem a club to be big or small. Current standings are purely money-based and Bournemouth have had a wealthy backer for the last decade. Prior to that they have spent almost their entire existence in tier 3 and 4 playing in front of crowds between 4-6K. They're 'natural'...

Amongst the best in the league? We're the best in Europe statistically aren't we? Agree, Rudoni feels key for this one.

Struggling to feel much confidence about this. We tend to concede in most games and that risk will only increase without Dovin/Wilson. Burnley have conceded 6 away goals all season which is obscene so conceding first will potentially feel terminal. A draw will fee like a win and would give...

I've just looked at the first goalscorer odds as well. Haji Wright 13/2 Thomas-Asante 13/2 Aidan Dausch 13/2 Ellis Simms 7/1 Poor Ellis. I've got as much chance of being in the squad as two of those above him.

    Haters thread

https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/136877-i-hate-derby-but/page/2/#comment-7699257 A lot on your forum seem to disagree. Ps you’ve taken the time to register on another team’s forum who you don’t regard as a rival. Mate, go out and have a beer or something.

    Sakamoto

    Agree!
  13. skybluelee

    Sakamoto

Certain songs work. It's the cadence, key and punchy nature of EMCs which makes it work. The Sakamoto doesn't work as a chant on any level.

TOFFS Retro Kit Sale, CCFC gear too (closing down?)

Probably because most clubs are now selling retro gear themselves whereas in years gone by Toff were the only real player in the market.

    Sakamoto

Couldn't agree more. The current Sakamoto song just doesn't work as a football chant. You can barely hear it when its sung. Contrast that with EMCs which is pretty much perfect for a stadium chant, just like the old Co'H, Hamer and Gyokeres ones were.

    Coventry City 101 Greatest Goals

Busst scored our goal v Wimbledon in the opening match of 94/95. I sat in the newly opened East Stand. Another pathetic crowd of about 10K I think.

What are they doing in the Tesco carpark?

We have to take food with us everywhere (my youngest is coeliac too). The options in and around the stadium are shite. Further afield Playwrights is brilliant (we go there sometimes) and Golden Cross in town is really good.

What are they doing in the Tesco carpark?

Speaking as a coeliac somewhere offering GF options would be a nice novelty. Literally limited to a jacket potato from M&S atm, and good luck getting a table in their with the kids on a matchday.

Yeah I have these. They were from the 95/96 season but didn't last long from memory. I'll dig them out.
