A major problem with Simms is he makes little happen by himself. In particular his movement in the box is so poor. He generally needs it laying on a plate for him. An established striker at this level would make a big difference to us. Although the priority at this point has to be to improve...

I can understand the sympathy for Simms from many fans. But in the end it's the manager's job on the line, often quickly and without any mercy. Simms has had 2 years here to sort himself out and has had plenty of coaching input. We clearly have problems upfront and something's got to be done...

Of course it is. FL has to sort out all the recruitment weaknesses of the last few years. Starting with Collins and Binks. Then probably Simms and a centre back.

What style of play suits the bountiful abilities of BTA and Simms?

'doing his role' should include taking a few more risks with forward and longer range passing imo. He is a talented player who needs pushing out of his (long established in this division) comfort zone. Someone needs to break our slow predictable routine. He could help a bit more with his ability.

This is the real problem this season. Everyone watched what Sunderland did and know how to play us. I guess he's trying to push Simms out and get another striker in. Not easy on the package we gave Simms.
