This is a very valid point, and could very well be the core of the issue. Something has clearly gone awry behind the scenes, and either/both theories could hold water.

I’d take a punt at the Performance Director having, ironically, an adverse effect on performances. One of many ‘cooks spoiling the broth’ though, perhaps. Who knows.
