    General Election 2019 thread

I agree that some high net worth individuals will leave although I think that as with any policy, this one is more to do with 'we are going in the right direction'. So rather than significant increases in taxation, they'll probably begin with seriously clamping down on, for instance, tax...

    General Election 2019 thread

...As is true of almost any party in a mature democracy. If Labour were pure office seekers, then they would not be pursuing a third way route. They lose many more potential voters from the Remain spectrum than voters adamant about the need for Brexit.

    General Election 2019 thread

Again, this ultimately boils down to what one defines as clear or unclear. As mentioned, there isn't anything wrong with wanting to know what one is voting for. But Labour's policy should not be concerned unclear just because it is not stating that it either for or against at this stage...

    General Election 2019 thread

I'm saying that if you want to vote for a Party that has a binary stance on the question of Brexit, don't vote for Labour. But to suggest that a party isn't stating 'what it will do' just because they have a rather more complex policy is a bit fallacious.

    General Election 2019 thread

There's nothing wrong with wanting to know what one would be voting for. Labour's policy is not a binary option and is predicated on the notion that it will renegotiate with the EU and offer a second referendum. If the British people dislike that deal, then we will be out. What is unclear...

    General Election 2019 thread

It is daft for the Conservative Party to claim that Labour's stance on Brexit is not clear. What is unclear about the idea that they will negotiate the best possible deal and then offer the final decision to the people? Sure, its not a binary choice in the sense that it is not a yes/no answer...

    Fulfilling Your Potential ?

Yes that one - am I right in thinking that the athletics track was 'grassed over'?

    Fulfilling Your Potential ?

I'm referring to the playing fields in the middle of Woodway Lane - it's commonly referred to as 'Woodway Park' since there is a playing area in it as well

    Fulfilling Your Potential ?

I see, yes I live close to there. Just reminiscing about my younger years when I was playing out around Walsgrave/Wyken. Woodway Park was my fortress/home, and I would then venture anyway between there and the Sowe Common. If I was feeling good enough I would venture out to Cally Park or Wyken...

    Fulfilling Your Potential ?

They were good times, I used to practice there every weekend. Back in the days when kids used to knock on each others' doors to socialise. Nowadays, kids just break into astro turfs to play - proper fields are left untouched. I used to play Sunday League down the Sowe Common, and I believe the...

    Fulfilling Your Potential ?

I used to have kickabouts there - are you referring to the ones off Woodway Lane? I believe there used to be a running track owned by the school - that land was then sold off and became the Woodway Park of today

    Ex Player Watch

He's just put United 1-0 up. Some players do need to drop a few levels and do well to get their confidence back up. Clearly Camwell is a case in point. Otherwise they hit a stumbling block and either stagnate or keep falling.

    Ex Player Watch

Apart from the sneering, there is a grain of truth to what they say. It's crazy how far some players drop. Sphinx and United seem to be picking up players who were once heralded at youth level. Yesterday a certain Jack Challis signed for Sphinx - he'd been playing for Birmingham, Bristol City...

    Academy to go to Bablake?

If the academy really is relocating to a school, particaularly if they are good quality pitches - I would think it would either be Bablake's playing fields or the Highway Ground, owned by Henries, no?

    Strachan Football Foundation

I didn't know that such niche post-16 education providers existed, I thought people had to be into college/sixth form or apprenticeship. What's it all about? The website's a bit vague. And are there are exciting players who Coventry might want to snap up?

    Mowbray and the Acadamy

I'm not too sure the latter option is sustainable tbh. How often is it that we find non-league youth team players capable of stepping up into under 18s academy football and then into league one football in general? Ponticelli was an exception and there are some other decent players at the...
