    CRICKET - Champions Trophy

I'm guessing the final will be at Lord's? If so then doubt the pitch will do us any favours. Bit of a graveyard in recent years for us.

    General Election

Well, here we are on the eve of the General Election and I haven't got a clue who to vote for or even whether to vote at all. Whilst historically leaning to the right, I'm not at all taken with the arrogance that seems to have enveloped the Conservative party. Last time round I had a visit from...

    Devon Kelly Evans Extends Contract

I suppose it depends on the definition of a pittance. Kicking a pigs bladder around a field for say £500 per week sounds very appealing. Also depends who's definition it is.

    The Bears

Think the only hope this season is the tried and tested ploy from many seasons ago - bat first, score 400+ and then bowl them out twice. Long season ahead unless something changes quickly.

    The Bears

Prophetic words indeed! Another heavy defeat and yet again a poor start batting wise particularly in the first innings when replying to 500+. Yes we need to take 20 wickets but there is no solid base to build a decent first innings total.

    Birmingham Airport

The expansion at Manchester now makes it feel too large, too dysfunctional and impersonal, almost as if they're trying to recreate Heathrow. We much prefer flying from Liverpool if at all possible as the overall experience is much better and it's a similar distance for us.

    Lee Burge Signs new contract!

Thought he might have dropped the pen. Oh well.

What are you currently listening to?

Dipping back a few years here....The Applejacks - Tell Me When, Marmalade - Lovin Things, Manfred Mann - My Name is Jack.......bit of an ecletic mix but headphones are cranked up.

    ST sales

The biggest impact on revenues is likely not to be related to the mix of ST's versus paying on the day but more on success on the pitch. Our level of support has always been fickle, even when we were in Division 1/Premier League. Give us a consistently successful team and the crowds will be...

    Chumpionship playoff

I read somewhere that Huddersfield had the fifth lowest budget in Championship last season. So hopefully this will help put to bed all the budget bullocks spouted by some.

    Who are the players ?

    Looks like Jim Brogan

    One thing I've learned today

Driving back from the Welsh coast, I've learned that at least 50% of the population appears to own either a caravan or camper van.

    Roger Moore

I get the impression he never took himself seriously, made the most of what he had and thoroughly enjoyed doing what he did. All very watchable, family entertainment especially The Saint and The Persuaders. PS. And a patron of The Greyhound up by the canal as well.

    5th signing

Scott Loach would be a good signing IMO, better GK than we've got and looking for a club I think.

    4th signing - Monday - Liam Kelly

So we've got 2 x Kelly Evans and a Kelly now. Just need to sign an Evans, play them all together and poor old Geoff from CWR will have a breakdown.

    Recruitment

We might even have some semblance of a squad ready for when the players report back plus a full pre-season together. There's a novelty!

    4th signing - Monday - Liam Kelly

Anyone's preferable to him methinks. There's a kind of hush about this rumoured signing so could be Peter Noone ☺

    4th signing - Monday - Liam Kelly

Is that Craig Noone.....or even Peter Noone??

    Golf

If you were at Johnny Reay's, maybe ask about the cost of 2 or 3 lessons. A PGA pro will make sure you have the basics right - grip, posture and swing. Once you have those, it's all about practice and fine tuning....ano that's when the fun starts. All the best anyway, hope you stick at it.

    Golf

Sounds like youve got the golf bug mate. Tiger Woods has a severe back problem so at least you're in good company! Try and ease yourself into it, play within yourself and try not to hit it 300 yards every shot. Above all, enjoy it.
