No doubt it was a factor but the effect night clubs being open will have is a complete unknown. The euros events were often outdoors, or indoors with restrictions, or at home and small scale. Seems to me clubs could be as bad or worse but we will see.

If schools and the weather are big factors it doesn’t bode well for autumn. I’m hoping the euro gatherings were responsible for a lot of infections (although I find it hard to believe indoor clubs wouldn’t be responsible for more) and that we’ve possibly hit a bit of a herd immunity threshold...
