There wasn't a great atmosphere when they closed a stand before. Having fans behind the goal creates an area for all of that to happen. Like a west end type scenario
Its similar to the Grimmer/Sterling era. Sterling was almost hounded out of the team on here because he didnt say hello to fans on twitter. Clearly he was the better player and rightly proved it as the season went on.
