Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Aug

Rate him highly - he can be less effective when playing away for some reason though (formation tweak might not suit him?)

1-1 draw I reckon, Thomas header from a corner

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Aug

We have been spoilt in the last few years.... cast your mind back to some strikers we had a bit longer ago, your soul will quickly recover (e.g. I remember Clive Eakin - normally enthusiastic - quite clearly losing the will to live while trying to commentate on our efforts to attack when someone...

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

Though the initial selling price seems low, sometimes we have to be pragmatic. As Gibbo says, we will double our money (probably more than, with add ons). Looks like MVE has been up front about wanting a move, we have acted quickly (and well) to replace him. A decent CB and someone to...

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

Some sky blue tinted glasses on with valuations of MVE here... An asset, no doubt, but better going forward than defensively. Let's hope KKH is ok, then we won't have a lack of pace on the right of defence at the start of the season...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Not slagging him off at all. He has a contribution to make and has clear ability, but the team seems to be stifled if both of them stay back constantly.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

An experienced leader at the back who is vocal and organises others ( i.e. is prepared to bollock Sheaf for playing too deep for a start!) is the key ingredient for us now.

Match Thread Coventry City v St Pauli (Friendly) - Sat 2 Aug 3:30 PM

Unpopular view this, but I would much rather Sheaf goes before end of window than MVE. Surprised to be typing this, as a couple of years ago he was one of the best defensive midfielders in the division. I just see our midfield being very pedestrian indeed with him and Grimes. Feel we are...

Rushworth will do very well for us... glad this has happened a week before the real deal.

Match Thread Coventry City v St Pauli (Friendly) - Sat 2 Aug 3:30 PM

We need Sakamoto to teach Simms about timing when jumping for headers.... he has won a couple this half which he had no right to based on his size....

Match Thread Bristol Rovers (Friendly) Match Thread

Me too - scarred for life... especially as I was in with the home fans, close to the away end. Got fucking drenched, abuse from own fans, suspicion from Brizzle fans (didn't know it was the family enclosure till I got in there!). Saw possibly the worst ever 'performance' from a full back ever...

    Matchday Rewind Arsenal 0 - 3 Coventry City | Sat, 14 Aug, 1993

Despite being in the seated area for our fans, there was a bit of a surge behind me when the 3rd went in. I punched the air in celebration, but a shove in the back meant I accidentally gave one of our fans an uppercut to the jaw! Luckily for me he had a sense of humour...

    Wright

Wright isn't the problem: Simms is. He has all the attributes but often puts in timid performances. Sell him, get the right man alongside Wright (!), I'm confident Wright would get 20 odd goals for us again.

    Schadenfreude

Live in Exmouth, train journey to Plymouth is lovely and I find Plymouth folk friendly. Disappointed they went. Oh well, at least we don't have to listen to that dreadful 'Janners' song next season!!

Like it! BTW, are you implying he should be part of a bomb squad in the Summer :)

    Brad Collins Poll

Reminds me of Wile e Coyote from Road Runner cartoon - wonder which 'Acme' inventions we could use to keep him close to his line?

    For the older fans here

Am the wrong side of 50, rarely go to games now and get over disappointing results quickly. Fundraiser for RSPB so work nearly all weekends. These days I would rather go to beautiful places / gardens than a football match, so I am a follower not a supporter now really. Just find the matchday...
