OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

What's the line though? When does poor form become too much? You can't let it go on forever. And 5/6 months of actual in season game time is arguable enough to turn it around. 7/8 wins in that period isn't enough for the investment into the team. I would have given Robins more time still...

I don't disagree with that. You can't guarantee success, but hopefully by having a better structure behind the team you aren't reliant on one man (Robins) to oversee success. But you end further behind if you don't adapt.

As mentioned though. There is only so long you can punch above your weight both in terms of transfers and league position. There are so many examples of clubs trying to do it, under SISU we would have regressed very quickly again even with Robins.

Disagree strongly. Robins has done wonders for the club. But it's impossible to constantly punch above our weight and we were in deep shit financially under SISU. Doug has invested a lot in the team and foundations of the club (whether it's his own personal money or not) and we could do a lot...

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

It's a sad day in terms of sentiment for the club. Robins is without doubt the best manager we have had for decades and saved the club at an important time in our history. However, Doug wants to run the club a certain way which is his right. Ultimately he set the target of getting promoted to...

That's not true whatsoever. And I have already answered that within my post. I don't think anything I will say will change your mind about referees so will just have to agree to disagree.

They aren't decorative, it's a team effort. Linos make a lot more decisions than is realised from the stands and my personal opinion is that being a good lino is significantly harder than being in the middle. (Emphasis on being good!) it's more to do with perceptions both on and off the field.

Fair enough 😂 I get it, I've had it many times before when I get dogs abuse for not flagging but because I have just had a word with the ref and he gives it or utilised the buzzer flag to indicate that there is a foul/something he needs to give/do. But it's about perception which is the issue...

Explain? The level of tolerance for anything is different for everybody. If the reason is for consistency then people don't understand subjectivity and should argue for everything to be done completely by VAR and have objective decisions.

It's nothing to do with arrogance. It's taught my the FA/Observers. It's also because the referee decides the tolerance in the game not the AR. It's also to protect the lino's in two ways firstly from any flak from fans/players (rightly or wrongly that one) and then secondly as despite them...

This is a common misconception I hear spouted a lot, the referees have Comms, and the instruction has been to let referees make the decision. Even if a lino sees a foul, unless they believe it isn't going to be given they aren't going to flag, they may have a word in the ear though, it is a...

Match Thread Coventry City v Manchester United - FA Cup Semi-Final

Tbf I'm not sure there is an argument for a change away from binary on or off-side. The other options would be to add an arbitrary distance to it which would still present the same problem of 'its only a toenail over that distance' and then the other way would be a subjective 'clear advantage...
