Out of contract in the summer

I would keep Burge, plus I doubt we can afford anyone that much better to actually justify any additional outlay in wages or a small transfer fee. Stockdale for example is way out of our price range. I'd be very surprised if we kept both Davies and Willis, the Rose signing says as much.

Out of contract in the summer

Keep Willis and Burge. I suspect Davies will go in search of more game time, especially if we can hold onto Willis. Rose signing in the summer and we already have options with Williams, Thompson and Drysdale in the U23s.

    Our Home Form

Anything but a win tomorrow and it's probably all over, given Donny's result today

JCH - did we really misjudge him ?

The system didn't suit him here - he's not a natural target man and isn't brilliant at holding up the ball. He's better suited when he can run at the defence and work the channels with a partner. He's a bit like Bakayoko in that sense, although seems MR thinks he can mould Baka to add that...

    U23 v Sheff Utd

Wakefield had a hammy issue and probably just needs the game time. 5-10 mins as a sub won't do much to keep him match fit

    Jodi Jones & Hyam

Hyam is more in the Scott Dann mould than Turner/Keogh. Reads the game v well which largely makes up for his lack of pace and thus doesn’t have to make those last ditch, desperate challenges that Keogh always made - which attract the attention of the cameras and fans as it’s more obvious but...

Match Thread Barnsley vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Mar

To get them all playing fucking Uno in the dressing room. He should have started over Bayliss today and allowed Kelly to get further forward

Sky Sports saying 5 clubs would groundshare

Yeah definitely agree, the Ricoh pitch really hinders the way we want to play as it's so difficult to move the ball quickly and accurately which gives the opposition more time to press and close us down, which is exactly what Oxford did last week

Match Thread Barnsley vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Mar

Would agree - Meyler in for Bayliss and let him do the pivot/holding role and free Kelly up to be a bit more box to box like he was towards the back end of last season

    Player ratings

Oxford were very effective. Experience all the way through their team and bench, and boy did it show. Bullied throughout the entire game. Bakayoko has a decent first half and that was about it. Whole team were poor and didn’t know how to react from Oxford pressing us high all game.

    Crowd on Saturday

My 2nd time at the Ricoh in 5 years (Gillingham in Feb was 1st) and bringing old man +4. Should hopefully be a decent gate, maybe pushing 15k
