SISU don’t rule out a long leasehold

I agree. Any sale, lease or other arrangement would need to ensure that the assets & revenues are legally and permanently for the benefit of the FOOTBALL CLUB (preventing, for example, the sleight of hand we saw with the “non-trading property subsidiary”). It can’t be a mechanism for shunting...

SISU don’t rule out a long leasehold

Apologies if I’ve missed any discussions on this, but there seemed to be a hugely significant couple of paragraphs in the Telegraph’s reporting of the CCFC Holdings Ltd shareholders’ meeting (http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/buying-land-new-coventry-city-6404266):- “Mr Fisher...

    Cov Sphinx Saturday 28 Dec

Michael, I’m a bit confused by this. You say you agree with Nick, who talks about “packing out” a local club, but the only way to achieve that would be to PROMOTE the event widely and attract media interest. At the moment, this is just an idea quietly hidden away on a forum! OK, going to...

    Cov Sphinx Saturday 28 Dec

Thanks Michael - I’ve put this in my diary, and I’ll take the family. This could be the start of something new. For the benefit of myself and anyone else thinking of going, could you just confirm kick-off time and best directions to the ground?

    AFC - a different approach

No need to set up a temporary team by way of protest. Why not choose a small local team’s fixture and get all City fans go to and support them as if it was the biggest game ever? Swamp the place in Sky Blue. A massive windfall for the small club, problems coping with the crowds (but no...

Proposal for Trust meeting this Monday

Having read some of the responses above, I agree that points 1 & 4 are risky. No way do we want the current (slim?) hopes of an agreement between the parties to be damaged. God I wish my club hadn’t got into this mess. Still think 2 & 3 should be combined to have a better chance of mass support.

Proposal for Trust meeting this Monday

4 great ideas in my view. Getting support for the proposed “large scale event” may be difficult because everyone is so weary of the whole saga. I therefore suggest holding it in conjunction with the “big screen showing” of the Bradford match – I believe the two events combined would attract a...

Quick poll – how about this?

Not a flounce mate, just a very rational decision not to waste any more time. I’ll keep reading this post though, for obvious reasons. And before you come back with a hilarious joke such as “welcome back”, I’ll be cancelling my account later when I’ve got time to work out how to do it.

Quick poll – how about this?

Rich, I think your responses to me today as a moderator have been a total disgrace. With all the bile and dross that appears on here every day, you single out my thread? Your first response was clearly sarcasm, and when I said it was “negative” your reply (which was deleted shortly afterwards)...

Quick poll – how about this?

Rich, your previous post seems to have disppeared - thank you (no offence intended or taken). With regard to the banners, I'd love to but I have chronic health problems, and I'll leave it to someone younger and more photogenic! It only needs a small number of people. There's always a danger...

Quick poll – how about this?

My God, this forum is so negative. Sorry it was so confusing. OK - ONE QUESTION (and if anyone knows how to conduct an "actual poll", please do so):- WOULD YOU SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING IDEA? YES or NO. EVERYONE (including Season Ticket holders) watches the match at public screenings in Cov...

Quick poll – how about this?

What?! A whole week to make a couple of dozen big banners and to put on screenings that were already being planned. Assuming it can be done, YES or NO?

Quick poll – how about this?

And which of the 4 ideas is the least divisive and most effective? You didn't answer - YES or NO.

Quick poll – how about this?

I’m completely sick of reading all the bickering on here. I reminds me so much of Life of Brian, where the People’s Front for Judea and the Judean People’s Front fight each other instead of the Romans. TIME’S RUNNING OUT. We’ve only got a week before the best opportunity we’ll ever have to...

Would liquidation be a credible threat?

I’m not advocating liquidation either. But if some of the comments above are correct, it doesn’t sound too frightening. We could start again in a league from which we could get back to our current status within a number of years, playing at the Ricoh and having the fun of a series of...

Would liquidation be a credible threat?

Just suppose that as this saga unfolds, Joy decides to use the threat of winding up or liquidating the football club (which she may or may not have threatened on the eve of the season to the Football League). Would it be a credible threat, and how much should we fear it? Could someone who...

Genuine suggestion for a way forward

I’m going to make some very heavy criticisms of all parties in the Coventry City saga, but make a GENUINE SUGGESTION FOR A WAY FORWARD. Firstly, I accuse SISU of gross incompetence and lack of business acumen, in taking Coventry City Football Club to its current depths. Their mismanagement...
