I've always felt Hamer was over-hyped, but I really loved the version of him we saw today. Clearly has been told to stay on his feet and cut out the reckless stuff, and I think his all-round game really benefitted from that.

The defence is better than the sum of its parts. Credit to the manager because it had to be sorted out after the way the season started.

But our miserly defence also includes Panzo, who you said is nowhere near good enough. It’s clear that our recent string of clean sheets is mainly down to a change of tactics, a pragmatic approach well executed by the manager. Boring football, but much needed in the circumstances.
