Get that clown out of goal

Preston seems just north of Chorley to me.

Fair points, but I have been really impressed with his technical ability and touch, and his interplay with those around him. When we signed him I imagined he was only a tricky dribbler. Considering he’s got no experience of a league like this, I think he’s doing really well and there’s more to...

Some absurd criticisms tonight, especially of Saka, Allen and Eccles (who played really well apart from the obvious poor set piece delivery, which he shouldn’t be asked to do anyway). I’ve also got to question a lot of the comments about lack of effort, desire and team spirit. I really didn’t...

Get that clown out of goal

Just wondering whether the ball moved late in the air for the first goal, which when hit at pace can cause keepers problems even when it appears to be hit straight at them. TV angles not helpful in that regard really.

Seems to me this is a trend in modern football.

    It’s over isn’t it?

And fine margins between unbridled optimism and absolute despair for quite a number of posters here.

    Recruitment has been shocking

When he fails to go past his man, Robins isn't accusing him of disobeying instructions. Milan is clearly finding it hard to have the confidence to do what the manager would like him to do. I really don't get 'attitude problem' from that.

    Nowhere near good enough

Yes they’ve done absolutely brilliantly and opened up a 9-point gap to the team in third, which is impressive. 22 teams are below them, and every one of them has a big squad full of highly paid professional footballers. Not sure what the point is.

Match Thread Rotherham United FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 25th Oct

No, I mean if we had won any of the games we've already lost, we'd be 12th. It could easily have happened. The post I was responding to was from someone who is panicking about relegation because we are 5th from bottom, but if we were in mid table he'd accept that as transitional.

    Nowhere near good enough

We didn’t have a great game, who said we did? We are mixing it in one of the most competitive leagues in the world and it’s not (yet) going to plan. Getting to the playoff final (with everything going our way near the end of the season) has gone to people’s heads. Now we expect to be top six...

Match Thread Rotherham United FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 25th Oct

It’s based on watching the players we have in the squad, thinking we have the capacity to add a couple more, and trusting more in Robins and Viveash than in anyone contributing here. It’s a tough league, and we’ve lost two major players. The team shape isn’t delivering results at the moment...

I feel pretty much the same after this game as the Bristol one. This team will come good, and the players who are going to get slaughtered on here tonight will prove people wrong. Really frustrating at the moment though.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I agree it's relevant, I just think obsessing about and bringing it up all the time is pointless. It's also counter-productive because it's probably piling pressure on the player that isn't helping his performances. The deal is done, let's let him just play and see what he can bring to the table.
