    Gray's Gone

Well put, from what my understanding of Burnley is they've invested back into there own infrastructure with a very nice looking training complex which Dyche was very instrumental in designing. It's no good spending over the odds trying to lure big names to a shabby old dated training facility...

Match Thread Grimsby Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

I thought Beavon did well Saturday, tho as a striker we want goals he did some of the ugly aspects of the game that McNulty gained the advantage of. Last night was not one too gauge him as the game was done and won, Blackburn used there experience and used the big pitch to spray the ball about...

---------------O'Brien---------------- Grimmer--Hyam---McDonald----Stokes ----------Doyle(c)----Kelly----------- --Vincenti-----McNulty------JJ------ ---------------Beavon---------------- Same as Saturday, I'd keep Hyam in if Willis is fit. Lads done well so don't warrant dropping because...

Biamou is still very raw, I think he hit some form for Sutton in the second half of the season once he'd adapted, this will obviously be the case again stepping up to L2 but last night was against a L1 Blackburn side with championship central defenders. Naturally he had a poor game, but needs...

McNulty should hopefully be fit, if so go with the same as Saturday again. Biamou still a bit raw, one to develop over the season. Will play his part

    Blackburn Ratings

O'Brien 7 - commanding, composed not really at fault for the goals. MOTM. Grimmer 5 - hot and cold, offered a outlet but silly error for the goal Hyam 5 - adapting to the demands, did ok but exposed by midfield. Mcdonald 6 - the best of the back 4, looks a player Cramwell 6 - desire commitment...

Cramwell did ok I thought, I think if Doyle and Kelly were I front of the defence the silly errors may not of happened. Midfield was a issue so I'll not judge Biamou too much on last night against 2 reasonable central defenders, but the duck needs to learn to release the ball sooner. Looks a...

Word is he's dropped his bottom lip..... it's ok tho as he caught it at the second attempt! Shoulder injury apparently

    Liam O'Brien.... No 1

He's my no 1 for sure. I was more looking for chinks in his armour to be honest and that's all I found so far. The few odd sliced clearances but both were in wet conditions. His kicking is bizarre tho, out his hands with his left and off the ground with his right.

    Liam O'Brien.... No 1

Looks like we've found a all round keeper in Liam O'Brien. Early indications are that he's solid enough for league 2 with all the right attributes. Saturday he showed he's confident in coming to claim high balls taking it of players heads knowing when to catch or punch, commits to coming off...

I'm hoping it was just a off day and early season.... he's not gonna get that move with a display like that but I'm sure next to Doyle he'd of been a different player as he'd of had his ear taken off!

Match Thread Coventry City - Blackburn Rovers Match Thread - Tuesday 8th Aug

So MR clearly didn't have this cup competition in high regard this season preferring to give game time to fringe players and expose then to men's football and what they will face the coming season. I can see why he did it and opted to not risk some 1st team players. By god we need them for L2...
