What are you basing your assessment on ? The noise coming out of preseason is that both are performing above expected levels

Its interesting that both are being spoke about highly in the Lampard interviews. He's renowned for giving young players a chance so fingers crossed at least one of them breaks through this season

I haven't seen any evidence of this either way if I'm honest . Both played when fit and I dont remember either being benched . Will be interesting to see how it plays out this season though as I felt Lampard played Eccles in a more advanced role

You have Wright and at a push DaSilva and MvE/KKH who can play further up . We literally cannot cover every single eventuality

Both the Brau singing and the KKH signings were both announced well in advance . There have been mutterings about other players maybe out of our reach but I still haven't seen one mentioning a goalie

The squad is pretty healthy as a whole and ready to compete in the higher reaches of the championship. I think we need another centre back and starting the season with Wilson isn't ideal but we aren't in a bad place

No it doesn't but it's the perceived simplicity of bringing in another goalkeeper. From memory I haven't seen one single link linking us with a goalkeeper

So "if " Andrews and Rapha are deemed ready to fill spots in the squad , what else do we need . Obviously most aren't overly enamored with Wilson filling in but if we are to sign another player it needs to be a centre back who can provide real competition for Thomas and Kitching

From brief glimpses of him in the City unseen he looks technically very good and has a bit of a physical presence about him. Might not be thrown straight in but I agree long term he has been signed as the starting left back
