I’ve personally not seen that much wrong with McCallum at RWB, but others think he’s a fish out of water there. Cutting in to get it on his left foot isn’t a bad thing per se. But we lose the right footed crossing that comes with Dabo (or a right footed player). It’s not ideal to play him there...

That would be quite something to watch :D (I know you were joking, just in case!)

Any thoughts on how we should set up?

    Match Thread Cardiff

Oh yeah, we need to approach games like we need to win every one, and I’m sure Robins never tells them a draw is ok. But towards the end of the season I’m also pretty sure there will be some that if we don’t win, we’re screwed. They are the ‘must win at all costs’ games. We’re not there yet, but...

    Match Thread Cardiff

But by that logic we ‘must win’ every game. Of course every game should be played as if we want the 3 points, but surely a ‘must win’ implies that by not doing so we’ll get relegated (or miss out on playoffs, autos etc). None of which are the case if we lose to Cardiff. Nobody’s saying take it...

No more than they all are. Realistically losing any single game at this stage doesn’t guarantee our relegation, so it depends what you mean by must win. We could certainly do with something, but Cardiff are no pushovers.

Imagine doing that to your local friendly bobby and getting an 8 match ban!

I thought that, still a bit weird though. Sexual assault in another job. Imagine if I grabbed a woman’s genitals on national tv without her permission. In fact now I say it like that, what the fuck. Wonder if he’ll get done...

The outcome was a clean sheet. Games where we play well and concede ‘unlucky’ goals the criticism seems to be we should have been more cautious. We were more cautious, didn’t concede a goal, and the criticism seems to be we should be more attacking. There will be very few games, no matter how...

    Walker and Godden

Indeed, but he didn’t do it. First game he’d have smashed him. He’s learning on the job and has already accepted that he won’t get away with it in this league. At 23 he is still learning, and I’m glad he’s doing it with us. If he’s not quality in a couple of years then I’ll bump this thread...

    Walker and Godden

Do think that if Godden and Walker were in there looking for the crosses and scraps, we’d be scoring more freely, even with a defensive set up behind them. If we can utilise the likes of Hamer and O’Hare more effectively, we can get the ball to those front two and they will do damage to teams...

And also got rid of the things that are costing us. Small steps.

    Walker and Godden

Didn’t seem to work for him (based on one game) yesterday, but then he seemed to be holding back a bit. Presumably he’s been told to reign it in a bit, and this is the issue with his type of player, finding the sweet spot between getting sent off and showing tenacity that we desperately need in...

    Walker and Godden

He did play for Zwolle as a right sided defensive player, no idea if that was his main position. You’d think in our current situation if MR thought he was an option at RWB he’d have been given a go when we have no / few other options, but as we’ve never seen it happen I have no idea if he can do...

    Walker and Godden

Genuinely, I think he could be our next big transfer fee, if we play to his strengths and iron out his wrinkles. Level? No idea, but certainly our level.

I agree it wasn’t his position. I’m looking forward to bumping any thread that says Hamer is crap in a couple of years though.

    Walker and Godden

Really? I agree Sheaf has been quality and is underrated by the ‘Facebook crowd’. Wouldn’t say Hamer has been disappointing though. He was fired up to the point of not being able to stay on the pitch for 90 mins when he joined, and he looked the opposite last night. Another one trying to find...

    Walker and Godden

Looking forward to seeing them play together and develop an understanding. Hoping fans don’t judge their partnership after one game, or even one half. They look like they might quite suit each other to me, Walkers cross along the six yard area yesterday was just begging for Godden to tap it in.

Best they’ve played according to my Forest mate. Which doesn’t augur well, he’s always insisted they’re shite so far. Think we’ll struggle to catch them if they get going.
