Some players react differently , Gus just loves playing football and gave his best whereas a defensive player might back out of a 50/50 or not be as committed physically . I’d rather judge him on last seasons form and the high esteem Barnsley’s fans judge him

I personally think we would continue the model we are currently using and sign some young players with a view to the long term . Obviously we would hope to stay up but building for another promotion push seems the most prudent way

Do we look weaker than our rivals ? There has been literally no money spent in the championship this summer apart from the relegated sides. I would argue that there aren't many other championship sides that have a squad that seems stronger than ours and that's before we spend the Hamer money
