    They've Got Off Spot-Free AGAIN

There was at the time it’s on wages if I recall - 60% of the turnover on wages. Still is - can spend what you want but the wages need to be a % of turnover. Another farce in terms of the rules being all over the place

    They've Got Off Spot-Free AGAIN

lot of bitterness and jealousy on here - not one of you would be bothered if we’d have done this. FFP is horseshit and should be dropped. Only have to go back a few years back when technically we should have been kicked out the league for not having a home ground. Remember how we took the piss...

    They've Got Off Spot-Free AGAIN

Another reason why FFP is a farce and should just be dropped. It’s different over every league it’s just a pointless endeavour at the moment. Purely designed to benefit the status quo. didn’t they argue that the accounting period was for the premier league incidentally? And that’s why the EFL...

And about 120 of them staff will be on hourly minimum wage. The player wage budget will be a lot closer to 18.5m than it is 10m

I agree it’s not panic stations but crucially we haven’t played well since Leicester last season. our form since the wolves game has carried over

Crucially in the league we’ve won 1 out of 4… with arguably more difficult teams coming up.

    Time for 4-4-2

It became dropped due to its inflexibility. England played 4-4-2 for years up until recently - it doesn’t work well against the 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 - the midfield gets overrun. unless you’re bypassing the midfield and playing hoof to the big man little man combo it’s not feasible

    Robins

Problem is that this feels like a bit of a watershed - next year for instance if we sell Van Ewijk, Wright and Sheaf and spend the money. when we inevitably start slow again - are we going back to use the excuse “the team needs time to gel” We appreciate where we were - it doesn’t mean we...

    Time for 4-4-2

The problem we have is that Robins sets up not to lose first and foremost. It looks like the message is - if you don’t lose the ball you can’t concede. it leads slow low risk passing, often side to side. The downside to losing O’Hare and to an extent Palmer is that we now have nobody who wants...

Was very much a tongue in cheek comment based on our luck…

Too many COOKS spoil the broth

See id say the juries out - personally think our tactics are all wrong. Robins has us set up to be a possession based low risk work into the box team. Hes tried it he last 3 seasons. After 15 games he reverts to quicker counter attacking and we do much better

Too many COOKS spoil the broth

I’d disagree - the more staff the better, you’ll have individuals tailored to each player. Elite sport has that now - they’ll each have designated meal plans. It’s all about targeting each weakness. the club needs modernisation, it’s another thing that will attract better players.

That’s down to the manager not the coaching set up though

Too many COOKS spoil the broth

That’s not the point though is it - we’re getting more specialised. It allowed better footballers to hone individual skills. it’s up to Robins to use all of the tools at his disposal to develop better players.

Too many COOKS spoil the broth

Exactly. We’re moving to a setup that’s used in the premier league and top clubs in our league. Need to get out of the league one/two mentality

    Robins

I’m going to put a new slant on it. We’re verging on being a big club in this league. 4th potentially 3rd highest season ticket sales in the league, 3rd biggest transfer spend. We don’t think we’re destined for promotion - but to think midtable is acceptable is just plain wrong. our...

We have backed the team. 22k season ticket holders. What appeared today for the first time in a long time was a side that at times looked disinterested and like they were unsure as to what they were meant to do. the past sides were running through brick walls for each other
