Also it has been said he is quite a shy reserved lad so to get taken off early he gets a rousing reception off the fans

That's his biggest asset one touch finishing . His goals for Sunderland and in preseason were very similar . Hopefully we can start getting more delivery into the box for him to get on the end of

    Ellis Simms Going Forward

Because like it has been said the Sheaf injury magnified the shortfall in midfield . Like you say you never know when an injury will occur Think it's best we agree to disagree on this one as we are going round in circles 👍

    Ellis Simms Going Forward

Precisely! It would be why sign Swift when we needed Kitching . Damned if you do , damned if you don't

    Ellis Simms Going Forward

And we were trying to sign Swift according to reports. Look while I agree we do still need a midfielder the invest across the rest of the squad has been needed . Once Sheaf and O' Hare return I'm sure we'll have enough to see us through to January

    Ellis Simms Going Forward

Hasn't it been said on here that Kitching was injured when we signed him and Binks form has kept him out since ? We can't just pick players according to price tags surely . And look at Jackson at Chelsea , Hojland at United ? Whilst it would be great for strikers to hit the ground running it...

Binks has been fantastic so far but I haven't seen any of our defenders who could do the Fadz role so far . Lati potentially could but his size would be a worry , has Kitching been signed to play in that role or is he just a LCB ?

    Dean Austin

Will be interesting to see if we are still after Brekale(sp) in January as he could be Fadz long term replacement

    Ellis Simms Going Forward

Look at the money Chelsea and United have spent on attacking players and the return they've had . Signing players is always a gamble
  16. Martin180

    Dean Austin

Probably right but I think there is a player in there to work with
  17. Martin180

    Dean Austin

And we were trying according to reports . While I wish we had signed another midfielder I'm glad we just didn't sign another Maguire and that we can hold out for the right player
  18. Martin180

    Dean Austin

To be fair we only had 2-3 defenders on the books at the start of the summer so you can understand why that was a priority. Simms will be a player for us but Wright hasn't looked great so far
