    Perhaps they were under the impression Britain was already leaving or perhaps they felt their vote would be totally ignored, like it was after the referendum.

    I doubt the EU gives a rat's ass about Northern Ireland. If it was a cloice between keeping Britain in and keeping any part of Ireland in they will choose to keep Britain in every time.

    The turnout in the West Midlands was even worse than in the country as a whole, 31.1% compared to 33.3% in 2014. I don't yet have figures for Coventry but the above broadly coincides with what I witnessed personally. Around here it was the elderly and infirm who were the most likely to vote!

    Nobody "won" anything. 63% didn't bother to vote either because they feel the EU Parliament is irrelevant or because they thought their vote didn't matter.

    That had nothing to do with it. Like me voters saw the two logos on the ballot paper and decided that Brexit had a better chance of success than UKIP. If UKIP had been leading in the polls we would probably have put our crosses there.
