Match Thread Coventry v Sunderland Championship Playoff 1st Leg Friday 9th May

I think talk of 2 or 3 goal leads going up there might be optimistic. Mega pressure games. Although we absolutely can.

    Jack rudoni

He wouldn’t have come in as a top earner from relegated Huddersfield. He should be made one this summer. Pay bump for him and security around a proper fee for us. If he develops at this rate next season even £20m will look cheap.

    Our midfield

Sheaf looked like a man possessed at times today, he is getting up to the match fitness levels of the other two and with them all firing there can’t be many better midfields outside the top flight.

    BTA > Simms

He was excellent, one of his best performances for us, even if a cameo. He absolutely deserves game time against Sunderland. Just think that probably ought to come as a sub.

    He's Magic You Know

Fair play lampard for tweaking the tactics to accommodate him too. Much less playing out from the back and full authority given to just fuck the ball up the pitch. Made for a lot less twitchy bum moments.

    Play Off Final Holiday Clash

My brother lands in Manchester from a Vegas trip at 9.30 the morning of the final. Provided Sunderland Sunderland against us, he’ll need an open train ticket, the aviation and rail delay gods to be kind and a keg of redbull.

    BTA > Simms

He’s definitely made a case for himself but let’s have it right, BTA has put in some non-league performances for us. Starting him in such a big game following 30 odd minutes in two games after barely kicking a ball in anger for months is a jump. He had acres against a Boro team chasing the game...

    Clive Eakin on CWR

Agree. I’d like to see (hear) a completely new line up with only Oggy retained. Even the back ups/occasionals are crap. Not sure who the bloke was who did the phone in last night but I had to turn off after 10 mins, proper grating.

    BTA > Simms

Not gonna play the telephone pole role though is he, which changes the tactics considerably. Don’t get me wrong, Simms has proven this season he is pony. But he does jump for longer balls and temporarily occupy defenders (even if he doesn’t win it). And BTA has had plenty of games where he has...

This is brilliant 😍 love history like this. They should make a mini series about it. I first went up aged 12 in the 98/99 season. Can’t remember the game but my stand out memory was being offered a blow job for £12 by a haggard woman with no teeth leaving a night game… that stays with a 12 year...
