Right who's the next manager then?

I would say that a lot of the problems we had are tactical. We don’t seem to know our best 11 - we’ve changed formations multiple times and he’s at the stage where he’s just throwing things at it to see what sticks - see Rudoni at left back. there also seems to be what seems inconsistency in...

Right who's the next manager then?

I’m generally optimistic that there’s a plan. But I’m not enamoured with the Bloomfield link

    Head Coach rather than Manager

I can give you my thoughts? football/sport in general has moved on from 11 blokes down the local factory playing down the field. fitness is now better than it was 20 years ago and you need to fine tune that. The game is quicker, there’s tiny things that improve bc A lot I 10x that we wouldn’t...

    Head Coach rather than Manager

It’s constant improvement, like any other job - if someone better comes along you bring them in. You can reject change all you want, it’s a structure that is in place in the top levels of the sport. It makes sense to move in that direction

    Head Coach rather than Manager

I’ve been saying this for a while now. It’s a logical business move. it makes a smoother transition long term. With a manager, he hires everyone and buys his own players. with our structure and most modern structure - a certain profile of coaches and players are brought in and the head coach...

    Doug King out

It’s not impossible though is it - hire a manager that turns out to be good, and we’ll all be behind him again let’s not pretend we’re any different to any other fanbase. We’ll be as fickle as everyone of them

I reckon this is well down the line. The new manager will be place during the international window. curveball - maybe it is Carsley and we’re waiting for him to finish with England

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Nov

Bizarre comments ain’t they - we all have disagreements over manager, players, coaches and owners. but we’re all supposed to have the same want of having us win every game. Almost as bad as the “hope we go bust so wasps pick up the pieces people”

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Nov

I don’t disagree with that statement. I’m philosophical on the whole situation. it’s football. This sacking shouldn’t surprise anyone. Robins has been throwing things at the board to see if they stick for a while now. Rudoni at left back, Sakamoto at AMC it’s a sad day, and Im gutted Robins...

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

I’d look specifically at the last 11 home games - 8 defeats in that time. away performances aside, we make our money on the ticket sales which are top priced. Season tickets gonna be a hard sell if we keep losing at home

Right who's the next manager then?

We need a manager who appeals to the fans. If only to give the new manager time. if it’s Beale I’d give it 3 games before we turn on him

3-0 win - players all of a sudden become a coherent unit. Booed off at the end

Right who's the next manager then?

I’ve asked this before - why should we care what other fans think?

    Thankyou mark , for everything

Had my Robins concerns but this was never going to be an easy day. Born in 1988, so missed the cup final. the man finally gave me a positive reason to support this great club. Deserves a statue thanks Mark for everything. He’s walked so the club can run.

Right who's the next manager then?

Outside of his club status, he’s actually rated. Has managed Maccabi Tel Aviv and won a league and cup double. would fit into the current structure, and more importantly his status would afford him time. id also throw out Anthony Barry, but he’s just became England Assistant Manager so unlikely

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

“The Club will take its time to appoint a successor to Mark, although the position will be that of Head Coach working within the new structure set up by the Club over the last two years.” this is as I predicted. robins was never Doug’s man

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

Suprises me - I had my concerns over Robins but thought he’d bought himself some time taking 10 points from the last 5 games.
