This wasn't that bad a take at the time! Strange how on the face of it last summer's recruitment seemed logical with the 3-4-1-2 in mind... but just didn't seem to work. Tats was the signing who never really seemed to fit the formation. Amazing how the switch to a back 4 seemed to transform us.

Acknowledge there is an element of this. But think he helped them out with his pace as well. Last summer I think it was generally thought Thomas was the cheaper option who was possibly a year behind McNally in terms of development. Personally still think McNally looked better. Not sure how much...

I like Thomas. Have concerns over his concentration though. McNally was immense for us.

Seems McNally is available from Burnley. Would still like to see us in for him. Gives us more aerial presence and speed. It's ruthless but he's better than Lati and probably Thomas I think.

There are some echoes from last summer. Romano tweeting about Vik being fit after his knee op. He's apparently been reporting on some of his blogs how Arsenal can't afford him. Sounds like he's being used as the mouthpiece to drive the price down for Arsenal I'd say.

Said on another thread transfers almost seem to work backwards these days. All this gets done before a deal is done between the clubs. Hopeful both these deals (Nketiah and Gyokeres) will get agreed but seems all the clubs involved are some way off in terms of valuation.

I think we knew this anyway but seems Sporting have released a statement today about our sell on clause for Viktor reducing to 10%. Seems to read like they have had to pay us €1m to trigger this... Edit - I have considered deleting this for fear of opening up the thread on the percentage...
