Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Democrats did think about trying to legislate an increase in the size of the Court to address the current imbalance but there's always going to be an odd number of justices so one party will "dominate" either way. Neither party can take the high ground on the SC balance when so many other judges...

That's the problem US has atm. It's a comparatively "young court" so its "political makeup" unlikely to change anytime soon. Most likely change would be for Trump to press the eldest Republican judge to quit during this Presidency so that he could appoint a new young Republican.

Right but the Lords does have blocking /amendment powers. maybe it's one of the reasons Labour has appointed a load of new peers in December to give them a majority there. Also UK supreme court currently has tended to show a liberal tendency and the court is also not appointed by polticians so...

Goes through the various federal court levels until it reaches the SC. In these most recent cases SC has "jumped in" and fast-tracked them for quick decisions

Americans are tied by having a written constitution and that it (and many key amendments) were written for another time. This obsessive adherence to documents from another time is absurd - much like the various religions that want firm adherence to things written often over a thousand years ago...

This is just a phase of the SC with a Republican-appointed majority. Both parties have politicised the lower courts. One of the big issues when US claims to be the "world's greatest democracy" is the politicisation of its court system. This SC decision won't stop Democrats and their appointed...

Massive Supreme Court decision on the power of lower courts to apply nationwide injunctions. republicans used it themselves to block Biden but now a precedent has been set. Whether it's constitutionally correct or not is another matter as again the court ruled 6-3 along ideological/political lines.

That's not what NATO, UK and US Govts say. America owns the weapons and are responsible for their maintenance etc. the nuclear non-proliferation makes this clear.

No the question is if everyone is doing the same what changes the current economic status quo? Green energy has become a must because so many of our biggest trade partners are doing it.

But we are sending "him" around a billion dollars for 12 nuclear bombers - that aren't actually nuclear bombers unless the US President says the nuclear bombs can be used as he owns the bombs. Knee jerk nonsense.

Much depends on the weighting given to the different causes of a low birth rate - not just the economic but the social as well. You can address the economic easier than you can the social.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Politicians don't want a detailed conversation because then they'd have to detail the economics of it and they can't properly provide definitive answers past short-term results. Migration into a stagant economy is completely different to migration into a growth economy. It's like the green...

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

No. NYC is a special case. Plus his opponent wasn't popular with many for lots of reasons. It's still part a state where progressives have done well. What happens in New York rarely reflects onto the National scene.

There's nothing stopping members moving to other groups with the same stated end goals but don't advocate direct action/breaking the law. Their right to protest isn't being removed - just the methods

Their councils will be under a lot of scrutiny to see how they perform. If they are no worse than others that's still a plus for them. If they can make local Govt work then national floating voters could look at them in a different light.

There's always the 3rd option that Labour make a complete mess of it and much like the last election Reform could get in by default (particularly if the Tories can't reconnect with their former voters)
