Surely a dead rubber fixture is where both teams have nothing to play for? In those fixtures, Stoke Luton and Everton, each match meant a great deal to us. In addition, Stoke and Luton players certainly weren’t taking it easy and made life as difficult for us as they could.

I just can't see how they can justify such an arbitrary decision. It seems totally unfair. If the leagues have to end then surely a ppg system is much fairer. In these circumstances, why have relegation at all? Just promote clubs at the top of their leagues and have more relegation places next...
