    Nine To Go.

I fully agree. And with recent results I see Bristol City as our main rivals trying to take our top 6 place. They have Norwich, Burnley and Watford when we have our harder 3 games. It doesn't get much easier for them as they then have WBA. I can't see them pulling ahead of us by much during...

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 15th Mar

I'm quietly confident of getting something from this game. They won't be coming to park the bus so we will get chances to score.

    Nine To Go.

May I remind you that we're on one of them crazy runs.... Nobody is saying we will do it comfortably. The point mainly being made are it looks like a very low amount of points to the usual average should be enough this season. We have won 9 out of the last 11. Winning 5 of the next 9 should be...

Sunderland will be looking at our game thinking it will be a very tough game also. On our side is home advantage.

4 points from 9 games is massive for teams struggling with results. Blackburn losing to Stoke tonight was massive. Watford have a GD of -3.

    Nine To Go.

Can't see 70 points being needed to beat 7th. All sides have 9 games to go. Bristol City have a difficult run in. They're on 54 points so would need 5 wins 1 draw to make it to 70. Burnley H WBA A Sunderland H Leeds A They also have Norwich and Watford who still have a chance depending on...

Am I allowed to sing a song for Robins if they hold on for the win?

I'd fancy our chances against Sunderland especially if our players are fit by the time we play. Then anything could happen in the final.

18% possession by Plymouth at Portsmouth and 2-0 up. Even more of a smash and grab than Derby did to us.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 15th Mar

This should be a good game that could go either way. They're not in the form they were earlier in the season. They also won't put 11 players behind the ball like Derby did. For once I would say a good performance is as important as the result.

    Why

Do you think a player out of contract and trying to get back into the game would have been demanding a big wage? Wouldn't surprise me if someone who supported us as a boy and grew up locally wanted to be a part of what is happening at our club accepted an offer to be one of our lowest earning...
  13. Lamps

    Why

I accepted it during the game. It just wasn't to be. What makes me laugh is those who have a go about us letting two goals in again, although we won the other games, yet on another thread go on about how useless the officials were. If we're going to play an attacking game where our midfielders...
  14. Lamps

    Why

Few months contract best for us. If we need him we have him. If we get promoted we let him go. If we remain in the Championship he would have a whole preseason and would be fit enough. A good enough squad player that can cover a few positions.
  15. Lamps

    Why

Some people are all or nothing. Just like our stuttering defeat last night. 9 wins out of 10 brilliant. 9 wins out of 11 turns to a disaster and we're just not good enough.

Video Derby County v Coventry City Highlights

If the second one went any further out one of the supporters behind the goal could have put the cross in for him.
  17. Lamps

    Why

We brought him in when we couldn't bring in any player under contract. Waste of a wage for a few months at worst. An insurance policy for a few positions if our injury problems get worse. He isn't match fit but he is experienced.

    5 at the back?

We wouldn't have conceded 2 goals last night from the only 2 shots on target if the officials were competent.

We love celebrating when our defenders get involved in a goal or even score themselves. The problem is when we get hit quickly on the break and our defenders are well out of position.
