If we beat Boro on the final day, we could more or less do what we want between then and now. I’m confident we’ll get 4 points from Plymouth and Luton. The pressure is all on them.

You’re overthinking things Otis! Do a simple role reversal, with 9 points left to play for, we are 3 points ahead of Boro. You wouldn’t trade places with them because they have to be faultless. Even then, unless they are 3 points ahead of us going into the final day, they won’t be comfortable...

Credit where it’s due, Da Silva has been a strong performer in more recent games on both sides of the ball.

My bad, I didn’t clarify the point that it’d be massive for Leeds because they’d still want to win the league, presumably. Unless Sheff U win, Burnley could pip Leeds to the title. So the Leeds v Bristol will still have a lot on it, especially given Bristol’s weak away record. Yes, it’s...

Could you explain the maths please? Boro have to beat us to make the playoffs in all likelihood.

    3 games to go

I may have mixed got things up but I’m under the impression that Sheff U need to win to prevent an automatic Leeds promotion? That race is more or less settled in that race. With how the season has ended, I’d feel more confident v Sheff U than Burnley!

    3 games to go

They’re tough games because the teams are scrapping for their lives, but so are we. 3 points from here means Boro can only finish above us if they win the 2 preceding games. If we were to beat Boro, we could afford to pick up 1 point from the next 2 away games. It’s easy to underestimate just...

    3 games to go

It is but a win today has made it v unlikely we will drop outside the top 6 come the final day. 2 draws against Plymouth and Luton means Boro have to win both games and even then they still need to avoid defeat on the final day. One win between now and the final day will more or less secure a...

    3 games to go

That’s a pretty massive incentive and they only earn automatic promotion if Sheff U beat Burnley away when Burnley are unbeaten at home this season. We’re in a relatively comfortable position. If we beat Plymouth, we’d have to capitulate against Luton and Boro to not make playoffs. Boro will...

There’s a lot of balance there! Sheaf won a lot of 50:50s, as did Rudoni and his dribbling was on another level! Grimes brought the control and the pressing that led to his goal, which was a fantastic finish! Genuinely, that midfield today looked miles above the competition.

We honestly made this game look easy, if you were a WBA fan you’d be fuming how outclassed they were by a team 3 points below them. Possibly the most comfortable game I’ve seen us won this season. We could’ve won by 3 or 4 goals if we really went for it.

How does it compare since Lampard/Mowbray took over? What we did under MR and WBA under Corberan is pretty irrelevant now.

Compared to them, we’ve been woeful over the period and only being a better side in 2022/23.

Where has anyone said Wright isn’t our best forward? Pointing out that Simms scored more goals from open play last year isn’t a sleight on Wright. I thought Haji played well out wide yesterday and he looked freer in his role. I’m looking forward to seeing him and Simms rekindle the partnership...

Do you think he’s a better manager than Corberan? I don’t think WBA’s team is particularly great, it was a manager who was arguably the best in the league keeping them in the playoffs. They’ve drew 18 games ans we’ve won more games than them.

We’ll win this. A lot has been made about our injuries and what not but a starting 11 of: Collins MVE Thomas Kitch JDS Sheaf Grimes Sakamoto Rudoni Wright Simms Is a solid lineup and with a bit more ruthlessness, we’ll beat WBA.

The 6 in 39 can be a bit misleading because a lot of those are sub appearances. This is Simms’ worst goalscoring season in his career and he obviously needs to improve going forwards into the final stretch this season and into next season. I don’t see how being in and out of the team has...

    Injuries

When Haji was injured, Simms and BTA’s goals got us into the playoffs when we started that run. Simms has got it in his locker to score a lot of goals in this league (scored in more games, more open play goals than Haji) so looking ahead to next season, I believe he could make a big impact. I...
