He certainly does. At times he can be unstoppable, but we haven't seen that in quite a few weeks. I don't buy that he's lazy. That's just the way he plays, but he hasn't been on his game in terms of chances and goals has he He needs to come good tonight

Right, so you are throwing your phone out of the window and will have your curtains shut. 🤔 This is all, very, very helpful.

Only big chance? What about Sheaf's? Completely unmarked from that corner. There were a few occasions where the ball was bobbling around their 6 yard area and they just got the run of the ball. I would say Wright's at the end was a big chance too. Excellent defending from them though for that...

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 13th May

The great thing about tomorrow is, there is hardly any pressure on us at all. We can be a lot more relaxed in some ways. The expectation now is that Sunderland finish the job, so we do have a bit of a free shot at this one. I am so much more chilled about it. We don't go through, it's still...

    Referee

Can only think the linesman thought the Stockport defender headed the ball, rather than the Orient forward.

Nuts, if true Leave the poor bloke alone. He must be feeling really down about it anyway. It happens to the very best of players. It was his fault for one the goals against Plymouth too, but he's been one of our best players and like you say, he has contributed so much more in terms of...

Exactly that. There will be an expectancy from them and no expectancy from ourselves. And we did only lose to a terrible backpass. We have to remember that. I fancy our chances still.

Yeah, but then they did get lucky on a few occasions too. Their keeper's dreadful mistake wasn't punished. Sheaf clearly should have scored. He was completely unmarked and about 8 yards out. Then there was the one that was pinging around their box on the first half, where the ball could have...

We drop him though and put in the striker who hasn't scored since 15th Feb? Who is the one striker who can pretty much win a game all by himself? It's Wright. I am sure we will see a better Wright on Tuesday. If not, he's off. But if Simms plays, I think you have to play Wright too. BTA...

The one change for me would be Simms for BTA.

He Got caught in possession a few times. I don't think he was awful, but his game was error-riddled

Yeah and I meant replacing our strikers with better ones. That what I meant by they are not ten a penny.

Going to be difficult though to find 3 good strikers. I do think FL will play it relatively safe and may keep Simms. We're not going to get any great offers for him in, are we.

Yeah, the "didn't turn up" is a nonsense really isn't it. We totally controlled the game, but just found it really hard to break down their defence. We did have some very good opportunities though. That Sheaf one was a shocker. In fact, whoever he signs his next contract with, I think he has...

I would keep Bassette to be honest. Send him out on loan to a L1 side and see how he gets on. I really like Wright, but he can't carrying being this inconsistent. It's damaging to the team and if Simms is hardly scoring at all, he is a burden to us as well. Can we afford to lose all 3 though...

It would be insane to drop Wright. So, drop Wright and put in the goal machine that is Simms? The player that hasn't scored since the 15th Feb? The sensible answer is to replace BTA with Simms. You keep your top striker in. Wright wasn't as much of a threat last night, for sure, but right...

Video Frank Lampard and Matt Grimes reflect on Coventry City's defeat against Sunderland 🎙️

I agree with a lot of what Lampard said there. I don't think we played badly at all. It was just really frustrating in our struggling to break them down. They were just determined to sit back.
