Again, it’s preseason etc. But I think the team with the 4th best goalscoring record and the 13th best defensive record last season has more pressing work to do in one area than the other, especially given the current injury situation.

I’m saying if you’re going to draw any conclusions from two pre-season games where you conceded seven goals and scored none, it’s clear where the most pressing room for improvement lies.

It’s clear that the team is shipping goals for fun and has a choice of Coco vs Kiki the Clown as far as goalkeepers go. But maybe if we just kept investing in strikers then we’d have scored six goals yesterday and it’d be fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, it’s pre-season etc etc

This is a crazy assumption to me - if he wanted to duck out of the game entirely then he could do it very easily, plenty of players do. Say what you will about his string of errors, I don’t think you ever could accuse Collins of hiding.

It’s just potential right now, and he’s also suffered a horrendous injury that he may not fully recover from. I don’t think we are going to spend £6 million on a keeper but we do need to be investing in one that can replace Dovin for good if needed, as there’s no guarantee he comes back the same...

I think it was crystal clear once Collins was dropped for the Middlesbrough game that he had no future here, as a backup or otherwise. Bringing in a #1-calibre keeper is the only sensible move here and it shouldn’t be too difficult or cost us much.

If we’re losing games against sides like this, imagine what it’ll be like when we play top teams like Birmingham or Wrexham
