Puzzled by the tables. The total of games won by all the teams together is greater than the number of games that all the teams shown in both tables have lost. Does that mean some teams are not shown in these tables?

In 2015, Rotherham survived in 21st place out of twenty-four team by getting 46 points. They would still have avoided being in the bottom three if they had got 42 points. Millwall, the highest off the three relegated club in 22nd place only got 41 points and were relegated. In 2016, Rotherham...

BSB, you are right in saying it has been more than once in the last ten years teams on 42 have been relegated by a large margin. In 2013, 2017 and 2020. So I can see I was wrong to say it had only happened once. But in four of the last six years, 42 would avoided relegation (just). In 2015...

Only once in the last 10 years has a Championship team on 42 points been "relegated comfortably". On six occasions out of ten, teams with 42 points have actually avoided relegation altogether.

We've consistently scored whatever the opposition. When we played sides in the bottom half of the table we've scored a goal and they've scored one. When we've played teams in the top half, we've scored a goal and a quarter, they've scored two and half. We're still on course to reach 42 points...

    Taxi for Biamou?

What a rubbish thread. Despite the one bad mistake, I thought Biamou played well in the second half, both in attack and when defending corners. I think he still has lots to offer. Come to think of it, that has already made a much better thread. ;-)

Biamou still has lots to offer

Worse than that, on the same basis, we're on target for 11 red cards this season or nearly 50 missed games due to suspensions! Can anyone else come up with even more gloom and doom based on the "bias-free" statistics of the first nine games?

Godden captain till half time. Kelly to take over at half time with Walker on for Godden. Max off too at some point with good defensive options on bench in Fadz and McCallum and O'Hare and Allen for Max and Shipley if (when?) we're chasing the game.

    Would you have bright back?

    a) How long would it take to get him up to speed in terms of fitness? b) How long would it be before he went AWOL c) The number of games where his presence would win us points Even if a<b, would b-a be greater than c? Answer: it's not rocket science.

Looking at this logically after some sleep

Never mind Philosorapter's algorithms, PVA's stats are transparent and simple. In a full season, we play 23 games against top half teams and 23 games against bottom half teams. We have 16 games left against top teams (will get no points to add to the three we've just got from Reading). We...

Think I would still prefer a draw. The fewer points won by the teams around us the better and the bigger the pool of candidates for the drop. It is still to early to predict who those team will eventually be.

Yep, I was thinking the same. You really DO need a keeper! An emergency loan maybe? Kastaschmeichel Osti Rose Pask Marosi McCallum O’Hare Giles Godden Fadz Ponti* *If Wrexham loan him back to us (more goals per second than Max or Baka). And play just two at the back. No place for a big...

I just checked Swansea's forum. It's poor but I thought this was a fair summary that SHFWR! Didn't deserve any more than the point - if that. How times have changed! The last time I saw Coventry in the flesh was when they narrowly beat our under-23s with a late goal at the Liberty in a cup...

Seemed much more confident once Kelly came on. We were unlucky in the end, but could very easily have been behind 15-20 minutes into the second half.

    Sheaf

It's true Kelly's only ever played 20 Championship games, and has played less than McFadzean (116), Walker (47) and Allen (33), but he'd played five seasons in the SPL for Kilmarnock prior to playing in the Championship, playing 100 games and winning the Scottish League Cup in 2012, beating...
