Do you honestly think that there was ever any chance of getting similar (or even significant) numbers to go to Bristol? The theory may be sound, but it comes to practicality. Look at the numbers that we've had "on the hill", or (to add balance) protesting outside the council offices. And if...

I was referring to the relative distances of Northampton and MK from Coventry. Are MK thriving? An upper mid-table third division team with OKish crowds. I'd bet that this wasn't where they saw themselves when they moved the club.

    Your desired away kit

I seem to recall a red shirts and blue shorts away kit in the early 70's - just after the green & black stripes kit.

I'm uncomfortable about going to MK, but appease my conscience with the fact that the Wimbledon fans went there in the Cup. For me, the proximity of the game and the availability of the large number of tickets give us the opportunity to reinforce to SISU/Otium, to the Football League, to...

In my opinion NW is one of the better and more thought provoking posters on the site. He's always happy to support and debate his comments and views and is well worth a read, except for those occasions where he gets it wrong and disagrees with me :)

    MK Dons Away

True in recent years, but in the (good) old days you could get many thousands in places like the South Bank at Wolves.

Sadly that's true. Lots of talent, but it never really happened for him with us. As I recall he was a big hero in Aberdeen from the way he handled the move to us.

It was the first time Dion played centre back. We played with a back 3, with Shaw and Borrows. 2 great goals from Nuddy and probably Eion Jess's best game for us.

I take your point, but I think that the immediate message will be that (most) Coventry fans refuse to attend Sixfields, but still want to watch and support their team. As for the longer term, I guess there are now fans attending MK games who were not born when the club was taken from its...

    Question for PWKH

I'm sure that what he said was factually (if predantically) correct. I'm equally sure that it would have been very simple to construct a "legal" way of reaching the same result using a conditional contract.

That must explain why "we" are permanently disappointed then.

FA Cup Away Games - Best / Worst Memories

Which bad cup defeat at Rochdale??? I was at the one in the last decade, but the one in '71 (?) made me cry - I was only 11.......

    Honesty

I live some distance from Coventry and have been used to travelling to games from various parts of the country over the last few decades. The Coventry fans that I know are people from the same industry who are all in the same position of being used to travelling some distance to home games...

Guess it depends. If you come from a family with a history of union membership, scab is a real insult. If you're a radical free marketeer, you might see it as a compliment. Just getting a bit fed up with some of the double standards - nothing new I know and nothing exclusive to this site, but...

Valiant seems to be prepared to take it as much as he dishes it. Personally, I'd prefer everyone to drop all the insults. I was merely wondering if those that get themselves in such a lather about the use of "scab" to "fellow supporters" had any issues with the use of "hypocrites" to "fellow...

Calling someone a "scab" is a very bad thing, but calling someone a "hypocrite" is acceptable - Discuss.

I was too young and lived too far away to get to midweek games in those days. Didn't worry me though, I knew that we'd be playing plenty of important European games for years to come.........
