SCG Teleconference with Tim Fisher tonight

Yes that is true but it would be 100 times more difficult to agree on who should be an arbitrator to be binding on both sides. However it is not for you you or me to suggest alternatives for a mediator, If TF has put forward Deloittes its up to ACL to agree or not. I assume he is confident in...

SCG Teleconference with Tim Fisher tonight

Actually TF is doing more than seek mediation - he is suggesting a specific mediator with particular knowledge of football finances. Deloites? to help get over their specific problems that perhaps are difficult to get over to ACL or the Council. Of course ACL could ignor this request and simply...

SCG Teleconference with Tim Fisher tonight

He is entitled to not be drawn on anything further than what he proposed! He proposed mediation why should he be drawn on arbitration? I don't see anything wrong with that! :pimp:

SCG Teleconference with Tim Fisher tonight

Isn't that the difference between mediation and arbitration. my understanding (before reaching for the dictionary) is the former is not binding on either party the latter is. :pimp:

SCG Teleconference with Tim Fisher tonight

TY OSB, Is there a big difference between the contribution that Doncaster FC and CCFC make to the community? Surely the difference is in the sentiment coming from DCC and CCC. Doncaster CC must have wanted to support DFC and have taken very significant steps to improve the arrangement for the...

SCG Teleconference with Tim Fisher tonight

ahem... Doncaster Rovers Chairman John Ryan was so concerned by the plight of the Sky Blues and their current rent position that he approached the club's Directors in the Boardroom before Coventry's recent away match at the Keepmoat Stadium with an offer of moral support a well as full details...

    WTF is happening?

Am I right in thinking there has been no response to the freezing of CCFC bank accounts by ACL other than one message posted on the club website, that has now drifted back to page three in the archives? "Coventry City remains committed to conclusion of an acceptable deal with ACL Despite...

Your example exposes the reality of the situation. Arguably your example would benefit ccfc, It might be worth them paying more rent than they are currently contracted to pay in order to benefit under ffp by getting back the other matchday revenues. But in reality they have generated those mach...

In general finance that maybe true but not when its an artificial constraint written into Football league rules especially to get over the unfair bias brought to the game by Russian oligarchs! :pimp:

Thanks for your comments GT (&OSB)! I am not disagreeing at all, I think we see the situation in very much the same way. It is concevable that because of debts, any given club could only find a proportion of whatever the ffp limit turned out to be. It is really very heartening that TF ie SISU...

I think you are missing a bit!.... the FFP limits is just that, a limit..... it is not actual money. the money has to be freed up and made available from somewhere in all the incomings and outgoings of the business... but in principle that seems to be the crux - the FFP limit on playing budget...

Just an amusing aside... if you go to Shane Oconnor's useful post on you tube of the tim fisher interview... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4X0GYpV-XmQ and turn on the transcript option (which is on the line "About Share Add to......." its hilarious in parts.. the speech recognition...

It doesn't matter to me whether they are trying to improve it with a view to selling on, the salient point is that they ARE trying to improve! (And ACL/CCC appear to be an obstacle to getting there!) :pimp:

Well as illogical as it seems in our situation (if we get thrown out of the Ricoh the first thing we'd have to worry about would be renting another venue) but I'll bow to your accountants hat! if that is the case it does explain TF appearing to be more concerned about the other revenue streams...

Thanks OSB, but where does it define rent as an overhead and excluded from cost of sales? I think Fisher in that interview mentioned costs as in excess of £1m and I would have thought rent was the major part of it. :pimp:

Yes I agree, this is the crux of the issue, but I don't think your assumption that rent is not included in costs of sales is right. I think it is included in cost of sales, why wouldn't it be? Did you see anything anywhere to suggest it should be excluded? :pimp:
