    Crowd v's Oldham

I think it's to do with the local pronunciation of "Athletic".

    Rivalries

Back in the late 60's, early 70's I'd have said that the main rivalry was with Wolves.

Best City XI of all-time (Central defenders x 2)

I'd guess that he must have been about 5 foot 10. Players knew when he'd tackled them though. A while back I posted a story on here where Duggie had been interviewed about his career. He told a story about "tackling" Stan Bowles who went off for treatment. When Bowles came back on he said...

Mowbray wants to sign Cole and Bigi in January

Believe me, I'll be the first to celebrate if we do!!

Mowbray wants to sign Cole and Bigi in January

I appreciate that it's open season on the CT here these days, but there is a quote from TM that says: “January is three weeks away now and things could change then. Hopefully we might be able to firm up some of the loans to permanent signings and then the problem disappears" Now, I think we'd...

Best City XI of all-time (Left-back)

No, he started as a midfielder (IIRC) and then converted to a right back.

Best City XI of all-time (Left-back)

Wasn't Wilf a right back who we later turned into a defensive midfielder?

    Maddison

I think that he could make a big difference for us. Teams are sitting deep against us and trying to close out the space, he has the ability to lose a man and play the "killer" pass.

Butts Park Arena is new home

Similarly you can't let him off the hook all the time with that "logic".

Butts Park Arena is new home

Sorry Nick, but this really winds me up ;) As an official spokesperson for the club, we're all quite entitled to point to his "questionable" statements - and frankly take the piss out of them when they deserve it. But whenever anyone does, we get this rather facile - well if you don't believe...

Best City XI of all-time (Left-back)

Sorry. As BHSB said, it was Chris Cattlin.

Best City XI of all-time (Left-back)

Pearce was a great left back, but he was still pretty raw when he left us. Working on the basis that the selection is based on how they played for us - so that does rule Jarni out - I'd say it was between Chris Cattlin and Bobby MacDonald. By the smallest of margins, I'd go for Spider. P.S. 60's

Shouldn't you just confirm it as Roland and then move on to the next position? ;)

    Best City strike force?

Not wishing to be pedantic (as if.....), but didn't we always used to sing "Ferguson and Wallace"? I guess it was an alphabetical sort of thing.

That would be very very good!
