Those are critical games, for our dreams of auto-promotion. The squad needs strengthening, we cannot coast along with the same players and hope it's achieved. We need more depth.

    Maf!!

Tudgay is far more capable than MAF, in every department; the latter just seems clumsy and clueless, no disrespect intended. I agree that he should be released to free up wages; at this stage of the season, particularly now that we're stuttering up front a bit, we need a striker capable of...

Yes, that's what's concerning. Unless we have the personnel and depth of squad to mount a sustainable challenge for the top 2, the top 6 is the best we can achieve. Anything's possible, but TM isn't a miracle worker. The squad needs strengthening, that's for definite.

Better than nothing, I suppose, but this lack of goals and form is troubling. Hopefully, it's a blip.

C'mon City snatch it at the death.

C'mon City, I feckin' hate this frustration.

Yep, was thinking that too, I trust TM to turn this around in our favour.

Exactly, he's doesn't seem to have a very good understanding of tactics etc. This is where Tudgay would have allowed the play to flow, he's more adept full-stop. TM really needs to wake up and drop MAF. He's a clumsy player who offers next to nothing in this team, serving only to scupper the...

Frustrating, again. Chesterfield need the win, so they'll win any way they can. We have the class to turn this around; if we attack with purpose and en masse, it'll scare the life out of them a la Gillingham. C'mon City, fackin' do it.

That's not what I meant. I'm not in the panic camp, ta.

Losing this match isn't acceptable, TM has to make the changes second half.

    Mr Tinkerman

Yep, the 'losing the plot' remark was a tad reactionary; the squad is looking almost threadbare right now, with Martin now out too. Even when TM isn't shuffling the pack to cover injuries, I think he does it strategically. Doesn't always work, but there you go.

Come on lads, let's be having you. Positive start, grab a goal, see where we go from there. They've had an early injury, so capitalise on it. PUSB.

    Mr Tinkerman

I guess TM 'tinkers' to provide the ideal line-up against the specific opponents; he does do thorough preparation before each game, so I suppose he plays the best-suited starting 11 that he believes will do the job. I'm not beyond questioning tactics or changes, but his rotations in personnel...

Well, it'll either be a masterstroke of a line-up, or a disaster of one. Defence looks shaky without Martin, so we can expect Chesterfield to pile pressure on Haynes and Stokes. We can still win, it'll just be more difficult.

My scoreline prediction depends on the line-up; 2-1 or 2-0 to City, I feel.

    please

Tudgay, 100%. He's a better 'second' striker, better out-and-out forward, better technically and he's more intelligent with passes. Personally, I think TM and MAF are friends and it's getting in the way of him dropping him. Maybe he's promised him X-amount of game time, I dunno.

    So, Reice Charles Cooke...

Hard to tell from the highlights, I keep trying to gauge it, but it's difficult to tell. If indeed his touch nudged it onto the post, it was a great save, to be fair.

Players who never got a caution (yellow card)

Didn't Des Walker, amazing, only pick up one booking? It was him or someone else, my brain is denying access to the data, though. Impressive for a centre-half. Also Stan Matthews and Trevor Brooking (apparently).
