Love Andreu's skill but just doesn't fit our system, reckon he's on a decent wage too so if we can move him on, get a few quid and free up some of the wage budget we might have some room for manoeuvre in Jan.

I think Sunderland are in for Stockley too - leave the bidding war to others on that one!

Match Thread Wycombe Wanderers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 1st Jan

Sorry, can't agree. When we play Chaplin and Hiwula together we play on the floor more rather than long balls we can't make anything of, we control the tempo more. Bring JCH on with 30 to go to bully tired defenders. Let Chaplin be comfortable staying further up the field to latch on to...

    Football Special Trains to Return

Think you are are right about JH and the football specials - visionary!! On a related point, Brighton match tickets give free train travel to the ground for the game from the town centre for all fans, if the Ricoh had a decent train service that might help drag a few more bums to seats.

Does anyone know if we have a transfer budget for Jan or is it linked to off loading players to make some headroom?

    Liquidation

I haven't read the entire thread but are we confusing liquidation with administration? Doesn't liquidation means we are over as a club and we can apply to the FA to start a new club (like AFC Wimbledon did when their Football League share was taken to MK) and they will let us begin again in the...

Tom Bayliss - show me the money.

If we sold him, and I don't think we should, who could you see being brought in to replace him. Anyone of Championship quality won't drop to L1 now, they'll cost too much and demand higher wages than we would ever offer.

When you put it like that...... But he was in the refs ear, the hoofing at that point in the game isn't a bad thing when Southend are pushing everyone forward and it breaks up play. Agree that I maybe should have docked him another 0.5 for taking out Kelly within 2 mins of being on the pitch!

Burge-7 - another solid game behind shots, great stop in extra time. Distribution better than the Charlton game but I'm sure better people than me (Oggy) are letting him know he needs to be more consistent in this area. I would love to see him bang quick long balls downfield for Chaplin...

Where do watch football where you can drink a pint? Are you getting confused with watching Wasps?

Agree, get Chaplin a partner he can play off - as I'm sure the original plan was with Biamou.

The only person that night who wasn't off the pace was Ponti when he came on - shambolic night after a promising first game of the season (despite the loss in that one too).

Agree, JCH is better from the bench. Maybe it's a mental thing for him - when Biamou was fit there was greater competition for places but once injured complacency kicked in a bit as there was no real challenger for his starting place. Changing our style a little with Hiwula starting and...

A lot of links between the Packer and the Browns, wouldn't surprise me if McCarthy goes there, Mayfield would benefit from it too and the Rogers relationship worked well for a number of years. Also expect to see Clay Matthews move in that direction too.
