Does anyone else get the feeling?

These are my thoughts: "something going on behind the scenes?" Yes. It' big. SISU are preparing an exit. It will be a scorched-earth policy with the training ground being sold and anything else they can find value in. I'd suggest that JS is dealing with huge reputational damage with lost...

Match Thread Cambridge v Coventry Match Thread - Sunday 4th Dec

Agreed. The 'couldn't care less...' attitude starts with Joy Seppala and infests the club from the top down. Having the players motivated when it's clear that neither Joy Seppala or Tim Fisher aren't is an unreasonable ask of the playing staff. You can not protect the on pitch from the...

    Tim Fisher

I can't imagine that he isn't being paid from CCFC coffers - either via SISU or a third party service company which is then charged into the club. Failing that the work he is doing on the stadium etc. is for third parties (investors?) into the stadium and we'll be tenants. Same as Ricoh.

    Feel like giving up

Good call Astute. The problem here is that SISU are struggling badly (they had big losses in their last accounts), the club continues to lose money and it's direction / stewardship is lacking to say the least. No-one wants to deal with people that can't be trusted so we'll have to wait for the...

Who actually owns our football club ?

I am not sure SISU actually own the club but represent those that do invest in the fund. I understood that SISU have to declare beneficial ownership within the rules of the Football League. Although we may not know who owns the club, the Football League do.

Allowing the opposition to walk the ball in to redress the balance

Similar scenario happened in a Yeovil game a few years ago. Lee Johnson hoofed the ball back following opposition kicking the ball out to allow treatment to a player. In that game Gary Johnson (then manager) allowed a walk-in goal to redress the balance. That's the sporting way.

    Sad state of affairs

My son played for Bristol City and Bournemouth and with both he was released at the end of the season and allowed to play the summer six-a-sides with his old club. They had a good team for six-aside as 5 of their number either played for or had trials with professional clubs. I just wonder...

    Absolutely disgusted

Ann Lucas hasn't ripped the club from it's community - the clubs owners have. There was no rental dispute until relegation to L1. Owner's that have "access to tens of millions," claimed that they couldn't afford the rent and the rest is history. I really understand what you're saying (and I...

    Absolutely disgusted

I do agree with you however, we should look at the Coventry City of today. The historic club was placed into administration and doesn't exist any more - the current club is nothing to do with the history. If it wasn't for the Football League allowing SISU (via Otium) to acquire the club's...

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

Can't be done as rights to some of the 'other' income are contracted out to third parties. In order to get full rights, any buyer of ACL will have to deal with Compass.

"Let’s be clear, we absolutely want the football club to stay at the Ricoh"

I have just read Andy Turner's article and can see why it appeals loudly to fans. I disagree that there is any moral obligation at the top of the council or ACL not to allow the stadium into the hands of Wasps or anyone else for that matter. Over the years I have attended may board meetings...

A few things to be concerned about

Where did I use the words, We've been found out"?

A few things to be concerned about

A few years ago I sat with the the first team of a Championship club as they were being taught the theory of the three centre halves system. It's a very difficult system and goes against the positional sense of players that are familiar with the 4-4-2 formation. When you look at top clubs...

    2,500 tickets sold for Saturday

No. Let down by the owners over the last few years. If my memory is correct, clubs publish their prices at the start of the season and can't vary them. They're allowed to do a certain number of promotions where they reduce the prices but they're strictly limited. I think just over 11,000 is...

    Best result from the JR

There won't be a best result from the JR. I recommend to everyone that they read the Judges report (perhaps skip much of the technical legal stuff) because it makes interesting insight as to how the club has been run, or not as the case may be. We have seen from the Higgs Charity case that...

    JR Verdict Thread

I'm not sure how their landlord's funding affects the football club so doubt there is a realistic route for damages. It won't stop SISU though. As to any conspiracy to remove SISU as owners even that's doubtful. How about SISU conspiring to distress ACL by not paying rent in order to acquire...

    CCFC shareholders

Still got my certificate as I didn't sign over my shares... Can't see me being invited into the new 300 club though!

    Time for change

I'm not convinced that grass roots is where the problem is. I respect managers like Curbishley but I think it shows the elite game (where the problem actually lies) blaming grass roots football where it doesn't. When players join the professional ranks, many have come through the academy...

Simon Gilbert, has there been an FL response?

We're not party to the agreement between Robinson, McGinity and ACL and we don't know GR and MM actually 'guaranteed'. If it was specifically 'rent' then there is a case that it could be deducted - I would be very surprised if that were the case because it is too specific. If the guarantee was...

    Possible outcomes of the JR

Great post Astute. I agree, there seems to be very little that SISU can hang their hat for litigation if the ruling goes against them. I'd suggest that CCC have been told to stay quiet until the JR is over and not to talk to anyone including SISU. Whatever 'offer' SISU have made, I wouldn't...
