    1980/81 - Coventry v West Ham (League Cup Semi 1st Leg - 27.1.81

The Watford game was unreal. 5-0 wasn’t it? Forget which goal it was but I was swept from the middle of the West End to somewhere near the corner flag!

    Wasps signs have actually gone!!

They are still deluding themselves that it was only a tiny minority of locals that detested them. Maybe a tiny minority of the whole population but a very healthy majority of fans of the City or Cov.

That away game was well moody! God knows what it would have been like if we’d won.

    Was Strachen a Pointless Manager?

We had some bad luck to be fair. First Inter came in for Robbie Keane. Then Bellamy should have been prolific but wasn’t. Then his replacement Lee Hughes should have been prolific but wasn’t (as well as being a scumbag). Then Celtic came for Hartson. Then the ITV deal went sour.

    Was Strachen a Pointless Manager?

You had to be at that Middlesbrough game to believe it. The most arrogant refusal to do the bleeding obvious I think I will ever see!

    Was Strachen a Pointless Manager?

Joe Mercer, unsurprisingly perhaps. Very good but short lived spell before Milne took over. Roland Nillson, Gary McAllister? Worst would be Slade, Thorn and Venus. Strachan was far too stubborn.

Match Thread Wrexham FA Cup match

Well I have often said that in a cup competition Coventry City are capable of losing to the Southam and District Girls Under 13s 3rd team. And when we are subject to a giant killing we don’t just lose narrowly or unluckily, like everyone else does, we tend to get outclassed. So the prospect of...

Looking forward to Kevin Maton’s tweet about Wasps nearly smashing through the £100,000,000 owed barrier

Remember PKH being caught red handed by big Tim affixing a ‘SISU Out’ balloon to his car 😁

    Doug King Takeover

I know, its about the same as mine. They probably don’t have a 23 year old stepson who spends 26 hours a day on the Xbox with every light in his room blazing.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Makes no sense at all. Wasps were going bust. There either was or wasn’t a discussion in the council about a bailout. Reeves and Duggins want to say there wasn’t but if not how could Reeves say that the political administration were very clear on no bailout. Reeves and Duggins also both want...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

The bottom line is that Gilbert suggested there was to be a meeting of the Labour group to discuss a possible bail out of Wasps. Cue outrage. Cue backtracking and Duggins unequivocably stating to Nick and Gilbert no such discussion was in the pipeline. All went quiet. Then The Times disclosed...

    Second half atmosphere

First went in 1969 when I was 6. All through the first division days, packed in tight under the old West End stand and the noise in there could be deafening, probably as the acoustics held it all under the concrete of the roof. But I have to say, the home atmosphere the last two seasons has...

    What I was told today

Hate to say you’re wrong, but in 1969/70 we came 6th. One place better.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Quite, so the question is why were Reeves and Co. so desperate to throw money at an organisation already in debt to the tune of £100 million and with little prospect of ever making money. One hypothesis has to be that they are desperate for Wasps not to fail so that dodgy dealings from a few...
