Post then. I'm thinking the era with Hleb, Fabregas et Al. Though a fully fit and on form Sheaf could fill that role... he's doesn't and will never have that steel tho.

They'd still probably score if they did that tbf.

I dunno, I caught a bit of one off their recent wins. The place was like a morgue. That or my speaker is fubar.

If they get 10 shots on target, based on Collins's starts we'd concede 5. If I was their manager I would be urging them to shoot on site.

    2 games to go

Doesn't help that we largely play a 2 in the middle, gaps everywhere against Plymouth. West Brom we looked compact enough in the middle with Shaef and Grimes working well together to close down space, very similar to Allen and Grimes against Sunderland. In both those games the oppo were fairly...

Its been close all season right? I'm sure it must have been nip and tuck!

Yea, something Pep has always had outside of his first season at City. Fast direct forwards seem to becoming more in vogue which is good!

    Ref again

One full back creating an overload should be easily covered, even away from home! I do think MVE and JDS have been asked to take up more central positions in the build up, they pop up in CM more often in recent times it seems.

Probably a little bit, it doesn't help that Manchester City now don't have the best players in the league from back to front anymore, so many of them seemingly went over the hill in about the space of a month! PSR may prevent them from basically buying a new team over one window too which is nice!

    Ref again

The way to get around Plymouth was to create overloads. Some Saka/MVE interplay on the right would have helped create something, I'm not sure why we look to do this less as a rule now.

    Ref again

That's an absolute stinker. Looked miles on in real-time, I think Armstrong was still in an onside position when he received the ball!

    Ref again

Probably. He knows it's a foul I'm guessing but couldn't have seen the severity because it was so late. That is the type of thing VAR was bought in for.

    Ref again

To be fair to the ref the tackle was so late he didn't actually see just how bad it was, if he can see how high the guy's foot was he would have had to have sent him off.

    Ref again

The game turns on that decision, we couldn't contain them after he stays on.

    Bassette myth

I dunno, he's looked more like making the ball stick up top recently. He seems to win headers and whatnot more regularly.

Was Armstrong's goal offside? He looked on from where I was sat but 97p pints cloud a man's judgement...
