Agree with this, think Simms looks like he could be a player and needs to start and get some minutes. Not sure about Wright, haven’t seen the potential that I thought Gyokeres had, but by no means writing him off yet, But if Simms were to come good, not sure how he’d get minutes…
I think based on Tuesday evening, we should rest Palmer and start Ayari, he looked far more dynamic when he came on, tried to make things happen. If you start Palmer you’re implicitly accepting that level of performance. I like the look of Binks, not sure what our best back 3 will be, assuming...
I thought Binks looked decent at Exeter (more solid than Thomas) and he’s come to play. So I hope he gets his chance, liked his attitude when he signed, and he’s played some serious football.
While it was great to see us win, I didn’t think we played that well. We gave the ball away very cheaply, and could have conceded at least a couple of goals. The ball dropped kindly for us today, and I didn’t think we were particularly fluid. Add to that Boro’s difficulties with losing players...
I think there’s a danger that we are over hyping our situation. I think we’ve brought unproven players in, who have potential. And we’re still short in the squad. I worry a bit about the expectation, Leicester may dampen it a bit (although obviously I hope not!)
Not for me Alex, and I would imagine, a good number of our fans would not want to be bankrolled by a country with a poor human rights record, although some fans would not be bothered. I quite like my club being well run, and not taking some dodgy sovereign wealth fund money. Newcastle taking...
Watching the Man City game last night reminded me of our game against Luton. A better footballing team stopped in its tracks by a team that had done its homework and employed a highly effective, aggressive press, that stopped the other team playing. The difference was that Luton were always...
Willie Carr first and foremost, closely followed by Ian Gibson, Ronnie Rees, Ernie Machin, Bobby Gould etc etc. Come to think of it, just about all of that 66/67 team. To do with how old I was at the time, I guess, and that fantastic period.
Is there any chance that we’ll go back in for McNally and/or Doyle, who have both been excellent for us. Either another loan, or preferably purchase? Perhaps BNC?
Just back in Northumberland. A real sickener, but honestly, we didn’t do enough to win. It’s been a great season for our small squad. Thanks to Makala for the ticket, and good to meet you. Next season may be difficult, if we lose players, trust in Robins/Viveash to work miracles again….
Hi everyone! I’m still looking for a ticket for myself. So if anyone suddenly and unexpectadly has a spare ticket, I would be very grateful. I would be travelling down from Newcastle, so perhaps best to meet at Wembley? A long shot, but nothing ventured…….. Thanks - and good luck to the team and...
