    Pub's now and then.

All true! Including my dad, an absolutely top-notch welder.

20a. It was a deviation down Windmill Rd off the 20 Longford and Bedworth route. Terminus was by the side of the Manor Guildhouse by Aldermans Green Road a few yards up from the Green Man. I used to use it regularly, or the 21 Lentons Lane/Aldermans Green opposite the GM, whichever turned up first.

    Pub's now and then.

It was cracking. My cousin's son married the daughter of the owners too (Andrie). Never got free chips though 😉

    Coventry Strikers

I remember Greeny (and was it Denis Mortimer? Not sure) trying a donkey kick in a reserves game, maybe the same week as the Carr/Hunt effort - before it wa banned anyway. He missed!

Thought it was just me imagining the 999 thing on the CET scoreboard! Was it really as early as '64? Blimey. I was only eleven if that's the case. Was stood on the Sky Blue terrace, presumably with my dad. If asked, I'd have thought it a bit later. Live and learn!

Brandon Oak? Mitch Shirra once lent me some tools and a solderless nipple(!) when I broke my Triumph 500's front brake cable outside the farm he was lodging at just outside Southam when he first came over from Oz. He had a bit of a rep as being arrogant. I'd disagree based on that.

    'Pity it's not live' 🤣

    Pub's now and then.

Yep. Me too. Either Cov or City, then Brandon after a chippy tea from Wolston, calling in at my cousin's house over the road from there (the old Post Office and Bakery).

    Pub's now and then.

We lived backing onto the Green Man, on Pearson Avenue. Could see the back garden of the pub from mum & Dad's bedroom window. All gone now. Just a block of flats 😪

    COV RFC 2022 - 2023

Few-er, if some get their way. Ten teams per league? Pathetic.

I had concession rates from age 60. I assume nowt's changed. And yes, book online. Cheaper.

    Pub's now and then.

Green Man, Hall Green Rd, in the early seventies. Haven't been in a pub for three years now.

    COV RFC 2022 - 2023

Another seven tries away from home yesterday, and now 21 weeks in third place. What might have been if not for a poor start and a silly defeat at Hartpury. (A parallel with city there too).

    Wasps downward spiral...

Irony alert: Posted by: Shugs (IP Logged) Date: 26 March, 2023 13:15 Well done to you Wuss fans - what is very apparent is that if you don’t do these things no one else is going to. It’s barely believable that so many layers of incompetence can be allowed/unpunished etc.

Yeah, alright. No need to rub it in 😞😂

Most Nerve Racking Experience You've Ever Had?

Coincidentally I also did my car test at 17 and bike test a couple of years later (both at Mason Road, 1971 and '73). Can't recall being too nervous at either though.

Most Nerve Racking Experience You've Ever Had?

Two daughters weddings. I usually enjoy a good wedding, but I was terrified through both of these (at least until I could relax a little after my bit was done). I've done the best man thing a couple of times, and while nerve racking, they didn’t come close. Mind you, I also recall my legs...

Have Wasps got a ground for next season?

Knows a lot about 'her' team then eh? FFS.

What are you currently listening to?

Coincidentally I played the original just this morning - along with Children of the Grave and a few others!
