He did know the difference - this fella knows everything about County. And, yes, he still repeatedly goes on about the first-leg penalty…

    Match Thread Peterborough away

I’m in an Ashes WhatsApp group with a massive Notts County fan and I mentioned the tribute to Colin Slater on CWR. He replied: ‘Colin Slater? You might be thinking of Mark Draper. Mr Notts County and an absolute gentleman. The voice of my youth and beyond.’

    QPR Attendance

I was at the game in Ibiza and there were a few idiots about. I might have this wrong but was it QPR who we played once at Highfield Road and a big deal was made beforehand of the fact that there would be no police on duty and instead the game would be stewards only? Cue (minor) trouble.

Upcoming ACL surgery - any tips?

Cheers CJ. I had my op on Friday and I’ve been icing non-stop since. I’ve hired a CryoCuff for the next month. Physio has gone ok so far and I head home tomorrow. @RedSalmon has been giving me some advice too. PS saw your flag at the Test match at Oval last summer - intended to come and say...

Fucking get in! Another brilliant goal to cap a great game - had everything from start to finish despite some misses. Will give the team such a lift and magic to score twice in front of the SBA.

That was such a clever free-kick - great save from the keeper to push Allen’s shot on to the post.

Did well to get there before the defender for me - unlucky.

Fantastic move - Sheaf out to Kane who whips in a cross behind the defence for O’Hare who gets a toe to it but hits the post. Getting closer but could/should have scored.

Really enjoyable half of football. Definitely a sliding door moment when Allen missed that great chance to make it 3-0 before they made it 2-1. Good to see Sheaf continuing his impressive form and two cracking goals. I’m in hospital recovering from ACL and meniscus surgery yesterday so this will...

Better than good - picked his spot and hit it an absolute treat to give Sheaf’s great work the finish it deserved.

Match Thread Derby (H) FA CUP

Was just about to write that one of the teams is going to give away a chance through playing it around at the back. Godden had a golden opportunity on the edge of the Derby area having intercepted a back pass but the shot was awful.

    What Books Are You Reading?

I've just read 'The Ratline - Love, lies and justice on the trail of a Nazi fugitive' by Philippe Sands. It's a true story about an Austrian Nazi who oversaw the creation of Jewish ghettos and deportations, and his life on the run after the end of the war, but reads like a thriller. I highly...

Upcoming ACL surgery - any tips?

Morning all. I twisted my knee playing football on holiday in summer 2020. I had it scanned and went for physio and was soon back running and swimming. Whenever I played football, though, the knee felt unstable, although there weren't many opportunities to play because of COVID restrictions...
