    Terry Gibson

Agree, Brazil was a disaster for us, came with a long standing 'back problem'. Was told that when Sillett and Curtis took over the first thing Big George did was to go round to Brazils house and tell him he was leaving the club.

    Terry Gibson

Remember Gibson being on for another one and as he went through Hanson threw his arm and floored him, ref waived play on. Also recall Dalglish throwing his toys out of the pram because he wasn't getting his own way.

    Beards

Dark hair but for some reason whenever I tried to grow one in my 20' and 30's it came in ginger, not really the look I was going for. Grew one about six years ago and it came in a grey, which I was chuffed to bits with. Keep it closely trimmed and about once a month shave it off completely to...

    build round the fucker

Have always thought it stuck out like a sore thumb and agree it should go. You are right that the Council do pick their battles, from what I remember of the Sainsburys debacle, it was only because they had deeper pockets than the council and were prepared to take the Council on that the Council...

    Vari focals

Be careful on the stairs, takes a while to get used them with vari focals. Apart from that I think they are great, just takes a while to get used to them, although I do use normal glasses for driving.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Just my opinion and nothing more than that, but I cannot help but think that some people have a genetic predisposition towards COVID and therefore more vulnerable to contracting it when they come into contact with the virus. Am not suggesting that other people are immune but I do find the Lewis...

Utterly agree, have no faith that the people making the decisions know what they are doing and that is the most depressing aspect.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

There is a really good explanation of how useless the track and trace system is in the Guardian on line under the heading "Untested, untraced: how three-quarters of Covid contacts slip through the cracks". It's a real eye opener. I would post a link but no idea how to it.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

No doubt they will organise a major news story to break later today or tomorrow to completely distract the nation form this shitfest and take the heat out of it for them.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Have really tried to give this government the benefit of the doubt up to now, as managing a nation through a pandemic cannot be an easy thing to do, but the amount of complete and utter fuck ups they have managed to deliver to the nation, time after time, knows no limits, and shows no signs of...

With respect it's not a 'sacrifice', we don't have a choice, it's being imposed on us wether we like it or not, wether we agree or not.

    Maurice Setters R.I.P

Appreciate the clarification, think his love for Maurice clouded his memory as to the actual scoreline.

    Maurice Setters R.I.P

My late father always loved Maurice Setters. Often told a story about how MS scored the only goal at Highfield Road when the City played Man U in our first season in Div 1. From a corner MS ran from distance out jumped everyone and planted a header in the far corner. He then ran round the pitch...

    Paul Cook

Many years later I was lucky enough to work with someone who was a first team regular at this time (I won't name him as I do not feel it's a fair thing to do) and I was always curious to know how the wheels came off behind the scenes during the Sexton era. Initially he was very reluctant to even...
