    The Ricoh..

The route in national courts hasn't been exhausted - there is still the potential for civil action against Wasps or the Council (or even Higgs Trust), but that would only have a reasonable prospect of success (in my view) if the EU Commission found that they had acted illegally under EU law...

    The Ricoh..

True, but you've got to admit it seems like they're willing to have a punt at anything, out of spite as much as anything!

Fake news - it hasn't been "blocked by European Commission" at all! It is one party's attitude that may have blocked CCFC's return

I was surprised they didn't have David JHW Johnson on last night or this morning.

    The Ricoh..

I don't know how much of it is "SISU going after the Council". SISU may (or may not) have made a complaint to the European Commission that CCC used public money to support a commercial organisation (Wasps), by selling the Ricoh to them below its value. It would be the EC who will be...

    The Ricoh..

I'm guessing that they don't want to be in a position where a court finds that they have to pay back £20 million quid (or whatever) back to the public purse because of a case brought by their tenant. I can see their point - it doesn't make for a cordial tenant-landlord relationship, does it?

Nick and Magwitch - please can you take your petty squabble elsewhere and stop littering every interesting thread with it?

And who leaked this story anyway? Sources, says Gibbering-Bert. The EC expert says there is nothing she knows about!

    The Ricoh..

I thought the "expert" on BBC C&W this morning gave a good overview of the EU Commission process, but she drew the wrong parallels with other stadium cases which related to public bodies supporting new-builds and regeneration projects, not the sale of existing facilities. Why Trish Adudu was...

Maybe it means they released all those nuggets of information about past behaviour by the council et al, and we started to take some of the heat off, then they announce they're going to have talks, when all along they were writing their submission to the EC??

I find it interesting that BBC Midlands Live page has NOTHING on this story, when they always have the most trivial items, and everything that is on Midlands Today. Was it there but has been pulled?

Maybe he knows someone at the European Commission legal department? Nah, scrap that - unlikely! the man with a voice made for printed media!

    Wasps downward spiral...

What a heap of toss! Just renaming for the day?! Someone should tell them that Andy Goode was a Leicester Tigers "legend" (199 appearances and 1800 points). He only played 51 times for W*sps pretty much after he had failed everywhere else. God imagine if we did something as cringeworthy as...

    The Ricoh..

Because it MAY be that they have torn the rug from beneath CCFC's attempts to broker a good deal for a long-term home. If they have, i would not be surprised if there were mass walk-outs (Boddy, Robins, etc.) IF they have scuppered the deal, they will undoubtedly lose any trust that has been...

    The Ricoh..

I don't know about the European Commission reference - they have no legal standing. The ECJ is the only place to go, and that is after a FAILURE in the UK Supreme Court. The UKSC refused their appeal - which means they can't go to ECJ. Or so i thought!!! But if this is true, SISU have lost all...

    Transport Museum to Charge

Unbelievably short-sighted. Typical of council-backed initiatives. Did you hear that the Priory is having to close again as they have no funding. Fucking astonishing and scandalous that the council will not support one of our most historic buildings.
