    Who needs VAR

Oh yeah, I get the reasoning behind venue selection (though some choices down the years made little logistical sense ie: Everton v Spurs at Elland Rd ) it’s just that I never knew the involved clubs had a say in it, if they did.

    Who needs VAR

Not sure the clubs involved ever had a say in the location of venues fot semi finals did they. I didn’t think so anyway, could be wrong tho.

    Who needs VAR

I didn’t go but it looked pretty full on the coverage I’ve seen on YouTube. The gate was given as just over 35,000, not sure what the capacity was back then 🤔 maybe 40,000.

    Who needs VAR

It was a completely different game back then in so many ways, the pitch’s were generally heavy and most players would smoke, drink and with little attention given to diet and nutritional intake. The game was played at a much slower pace and as a result players bodies were more robust & relaxed...

    Who needs VAR

Yeah I would have thought so, Highfield Rd probably held around 40,000 in the early1970’s, the replay at Old Trafford was attended by 62,000, I would have thought a capacity close to that would have been needed.

    Who needs VAR

I find it hard to believe that Highfield Rd would have been considered for an FA Cup Final replay.

    Fa Cup tonight

He was, got himself into some Great positions and gave the Newcastle defence a real hard time ‘but when I say Blackburn were a bit wasteful in front of goal…..I mean him really, a little more clinical and he could have had a hat trick.

    Fa Cup tonight

Blackburn played really well last night and if just a little less wasteful in front of goal could have won fairly comfortably, for long periods Newcastle looked like the Championship team. We will definitely be up against it, but with a big crowd behind us at home & few players back in the team...
