    USSR invades Ukraine.

Some posters need to get their head around the cost of any Russian gains in terms of land. Russias casualty rate has increased exponentially this year to make little gains (in the big scheme of things) of bombed out waste lands. Ironically it tends to be the same posters dribbling over these...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

So exactly like I said then. No one is saying that a million Russians have been killed as opposed to 43k Ukrainian deaths. Total combined casualties for Russia of deaths and injuries reaching a million is not beyond the realms of possibilities if Putin insists on continuing with his...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Given no one is saying that probably not. I think you’re confusing casualties with deaths. 43K was Ukraines official death toll at the beginning of December, its casualty rate is far higher at 370k up to the same period. No sure where you’re getting a million figure from but Ukraine estimated by...

Don’t you mean the tech boss over Trump ;)

    USSR invades Ukraine.

A large chunk of that was friendly fire from North Korean solders apparently. Couldn’t make it up.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

A couple of things. You’ve been hyped up on a pledge dating back to 2022 where Labour said that if they were in government they’d have fixed the rate for the upcoming winter period into 2023 at an average of £1970.00. They didn’t make that pledge in their election manifesto so no one lied to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You should read your own article. He lost £100m. The £8.3b relates to gold prices 8 years after the sale. From the point when it was decided to sell and sale finalised he lost £100m due to the decision to sell it in several lots. By the end of selling the lots he would have made more had he done...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

I see Russia has already rejected Trump’s proposals for peace with Ukraine out of hand.

They are putting the investment in. You’ve obviously missed it but they’re putting an extra £2.3 billion into education announced in the budget for schools and SANDS. This returns investment in education back to 2010 levels in real terms. It’s going to be invested in employing more teachers...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It was you who said think of the kids, I wasn’t reading your mind I was quoting you directly. I have empathy for the 10 million, something that you’re clearly lacking as your focus is on a possibly single digit percentage of 460k. Plenty can be done about what the Tories did, it’s just going to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Malc, 10 million kids got screwed over by the Tories. Labour has come up with a policy that is popular to help deal with a problem they’ve inherited. Do the basic maths. 1% of possibly 460k children may have to be lowered temporarily to a standard 10 million kids live day in day out while the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Well that’s just nonsense. Labour actually have a very bold plan for education. I’ll take just one aspect of that plan as an example. Free breakfast clubs for all primary school pupils. The cost to education system from children arriving hungry is massive. An hour per pupil in time alone. Again...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This whole “it’s about the kids” line doesn’t add up. The money raised from the VAT on private education has been pledged to go directly into state education. There’s just over 10 million children in state education, there’s about 500k in private (around 6 percent of who are foreign). If it’s...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

What about the territory Ukraine now occupies in Russia? There’s going to have to be a reason to hand that back so an exchange of territory to some degree is more likely. The other interesting thing Trumps envoy was apparently saying was that there would have to be a premium on Russian oil to...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Saw a report the other day that Trumps Russia/Ukraines envoy has suggested that Trump’s roadmap to peace requires an immediate ceasefire, a continuation of arming Ukraine, never ending negotiations on occupied territories and Ukraine being allowed to join NATO in ten years. It sounds like Trump...

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Thursday 26th Dec

I don’t think you can overstate what a great performance that was of the back of such a poor defeat. Only disappointment was not scoring second half but we kept a clean sheet so you can’t have everything. Roll on Sunday.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I heard similar over the weekend. Something like Labour have returned more and to more countries since getting into power than the Tories did in the previous 12 months and the most since 2018. The main reason seems to be the backlog in claims being processed at a faster rate than the Tories did...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

The debt grew under the Tories as both a total figure (acceptable and expected to a degree) but crucially as a percentage of GDP. Yes it started under Brown largely due to the banking crisis and bailing banks out but that hit was taken prior to the Tories. The Tory strategy pretty undisputedly...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

You can’t. One is £50bn of capital investments that the country desperately needs. One was a £30bn give away in tax breaks to people who didn’t need it and for the most part didn’t want it. You really can’t be this stupid that you don’t understand the difference between investment and a give...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Sorry but this is just nonsense. The UK through the City of London and our overseas territories is the world’s biggest facilitator of tax avoidance and for that matter money laundering. We’re taking a small percentage by choice through deliberate design.
