Eccles Injured for rest of the season

Was never really a fan until this season. I think he's done really well and in many games has shown more leadership than Sheaf; always getting into the ear of the Ref, which I really like a player doing.

Nice to see how many CCFC fans have donated. Just shows when it comes to serious stuff, which football team you support doesn't really matter.

    Rudoni injury

I'm from Southam and grew up there and remember that too. He lived up Welsh Road East, I think, didn't he?

I definitely agree with that. He doesn't seem to lead well on the pitch. He doesn't get in the ear of the ref. There are a few likely candidates for me in midfield and defence who would make a good captain.

I get what you're saying, but the games he's played since he's been here: 22, 31, 37, 35, 30. Fitness and injuries have always been a problem and, I agree, we relied on his a bit more in the past. We have a lot more quality in depth in midfield now and he won't necessarily be "the first...

It's not knee-jerk. Every season he misses more and more games. If he can get back to fitness then great, I would be as happy as anyone, but if not then the Club comes first. Are you happy with a player that misses over half the games every season through injury? If this was any player other...

    Jamie allen

Mainly because he's played in less than half of our games this season due to injury and in the majority of those he was poor as he was coming back from injuries. Gets injured, comes back for a couple of games, injured again. Whether Lampard rates him or not isn't really the issue. The...

No need to apologise. I wasn't offended or anything, just thought the thread title could be changed. Thanks for highlighting as I would have missed this otherwise.

@Nick could you change the thread title to something more suitable "Sunderland lad" or something like that.

Think the thread title needs changing as it doesn't matter who the poor lad supports. It's not about that.

I went a lot mid to late 70s, home and away. The only time I ever went to Eastville was for the Speedway, not football. Ole Olsen, Mitch Shirra, Gary Gugliemli, Alf Busk, Tommy Knudsen, Alan Molyneux...those were the days.

    Things that annoy you

Not sure this is a genuine annoyance or not but here goes, having to acknowledge a driver for stopping for you when you use a zebra crossing. It is now the done thing to thank the driver for not mowing you down. On the flipside, when I'm driving and pedestrians thank me, I acknowledge them as...
